We have used Dr. Scott Brown for 18 years. He's wonderful. He is on Jonesboro Rd. In McDonough (near the BJ's/Target Shopping center). He used to have an office in Forest Park on Forest Pkwy, not sure if he's still at that one though.
I'm looking for a GOOD dentist for my children. We have been going to one of the big Dentistry for Children offices, and while the kids LOVE it, I am constantly having problems with scheduling and general office errors. What I *want* is a local dentist with a SMALL practice that sees patients in a timely matter and actually CARES about them. I still see my old Dentist back in my hometown, so I know they exist! I just don't want to drive that far for the kids because they have a lot of dental issues. Help! Anyone?

I have a great family dentist in McDonough for my whole family. My girls love going there and no office errors. Small practice it is off Jonesboro Rd. in a plaza off I-75. Dr. Scott Brown we love him and his staff great with kids. He has five of his own. They always let the kids pick out cool trinkets to take home after there visit. Called Family Dentistry and they have video games to play while the kids wait and during cleaning they can watch whatever show they wish! Love his whole staff there.
Hi M.,
Dr. Carlos A Martinolas is at 11349 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro ###-###-####. He's a neighbor of a friend of mine and they spoke very highly of him personally. He was in a large practice and has started his own.
I've only been to this dentist once because I broke my tooth and he took me right in that day. (My regular dentist could not get me in for a month, lol. I should say my FORMER regular dentist) He and his staff were very friendly, accommodating and he was honest with me about if I could wait to get it fixed or not. He did a good job too.
Regards,
M.
Hi M.,
I still take my son to Dentistry for Children but other than 1 small filling, he's never been for anything other than regular check-ups. We sat in the waiting room one time about 30 mins past the appointment time and I was tempted to switch if it happened again but it never did. In any case, I understand your frustration. I am actually the one in my family who has the dental issues and it's not easy to find a good dentist; I can't even tell you the number of dentists I've been to in my life.
My husband and I go to Davis & Davis on Eagles Landing. Kurtis and Joanne are a fairly young couple that bought my dentist's practice when he retired so I kind of inherited them but I must say that I have been very happy with them. They're not pediatric specialists; no game boys or fish tanks but I really like them and would definitly take my son there if I ever switched his dentist. They now have a young son and Joanne stays home with him a lot so I actually haven't seen her in a while but Kurtis is very nice and I can't help but value them for putting a high value on their family.
Also, My husband and I have been seeing the same hygenist since they bought the practice a few years ago. Not only does she know us, it makes me feel good that they treat her well enough that she continues to work there and is happy. I think they only have 2 hygenists and an assistant so it's not an overly busy office; typically there are only a couple of patients in the office so I've never waited more than a few minutes to be seen.
The only thing I find annoying is their receptionist; she's not rude per se, she just rubs me the wrong way (like she's too nice on the surface and I can't imagine she's really that nice- I hate 'fake' people).
Good luck in your search!
I do not have children, please take me off your e-mail list!!
