Can folks recommend any good Large Print (or at least black font on white background) books for bedtime reading for a 3 year old?
In so many of the books that we have, the font is tiny, or it is obscured by a dark background, so it is hard for my son to make out the letters, and sometimes for me, too.

Biscuit books are great, level 1 readers have big print with simple words that repeat and repeat and repeat.
That being said, any thing you read to your 3 year old is ideal. You reading to him and asking questions is what makes a strong reader. Read, read, read - it not only helps your child learn to read, it also helps him to write and to have a lovely bond with you.
BOB Books are good. Not sure they are BIG print, but they are for young kids to start to read...........short sentences and black writing with white back round.
Clifford books in a box. They have some for younger kids . The older Clifford books have more tiny writing. But there is books for younger kids in a box and they are pretty simple to flow . In addition to that, they have Biskets the dog and Dora in that same format.
I was in Barnes & Noble yesterday- noticed many of the Eric Carle books (The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Grouchy Spider, The Lonely Firefly, etc) all come in large hardback versions with large print for bedtime reading. They're fabulous books, wonderfully illustrated- I'm sure you already know them. Check out large selection at Barnes/Noble, Borders or online (Amazon).

Look for the old classics, some of those are the best anyway.
My kids loved some of the Boynton books, If your easy chair spins then you can do the motions with the animals to Barnyard Dance while sitting in the chair.
I agree, some of the children's books I just cant' read either. But Skippyjohn Jones is by far one of our favorite characters, it's about a little cat who thinks he's a chihuahua, hilarious.
The BOB books mentioned below are a great collection to look at. I got mine at Costco. The most recent book I bought was a small paperback at Walmart for about $4. It was Dora. It has a large print and pretty easy to read. There are different levels to choose from. They also have some pictures that are associated with the names of the characters of the story. Hard to describe, but you will see if you go to check them out. My twin boys love this book. They ask me to read it every day. They have many other ones to choose from also, so if your child isn't into Dora, I am sure you will find something that they like.
