Good Experiences with Highchairs Anyone?

This one is great- It's a booster seat that straps to the chair. It's very easy to clean, my son is comfortable in it, and it's so cheap, I keep a second one in the car for visiting other people or for going out to dinner. I have never had any problems with it either- there is no danger of getting an arm stuck or anything. My son has been in it since 6 months and he's a year old and still fits fine in it. My friend has her 2-year old twins in them and they are chunkers!

I have a booster seat by Fisher-Price that I have been using for my daughter ever since she was a year old. I had to get one, as I babysit as well, and needed to feed both kids at once. It is very easy to clean. The tray comes off and you can(I don't) put it in the dishwasher. My daughter, now 2, hates eating with the tray on it, so she just sits in her seat at the table with us. Someone else mentioned the restaurant style high chairs, which is what we use as well. But I just wanted to add that we got ours at Amazon.com for about $35 and there was free shipping if you do the super-saver shipping method, which took less than a week for us.

It is small, wipes down very easily and it works great at our kitchen table and since our table set only has 4 chairs I really like that I don't have to use one of them for a booster seat.

My children are older so I can't remember the brand name but I used the same type for all three of them. It's a high chair with no legs. You can attach it to any regular table chair and you can travel with it so you don't have to use the ones provided by the restaurant if they make you uncomfortable. I loved it and my kids loved sitting at the table like a big girl. I got it at Babies'R'US and I believe you can also find it at Buy Buy Baby. I'm sorry I can't remember the brand name (mine are 11, 8 and 4 so its been a while) but hopefully you can find something similar. Good luck to you.

At this point I would not waste money on a new high chair. I would suggest a booster seat.

I would recommend moving right up to a booster seat. We bought one that folds down so it's easy to bring along when we visit family. If you already have the spacesaver highchair, you'll be disappointed having a regular highchair taking up so much room in your kitchen. Good luck!

I have a boon chair (flair) that i got from one step ahead. i've had it for over a year now. it's a little bit pricey - but i really love it and don't regret the $. it's pretty compact - i like that the tray is small enough to fit in the sink for easy cleaning, and my daughter loves to sit in it. it can also be lowered to table height if you don't want to use the tray and have your child at the table with you. She is now 2 and still using it, although she also loves to sit at the table with a booster seat (a much more economical option - but only good for toddlers in my opinion).

Sorry for the late reply, but if you decide to just do a booster of sorts, you may want to check out Phil & Ted's me too chair. My sister used one with both her girls and loved it, especially when dining out. I just ordered one for my 6.5 month old son for when we are eating out. They are so light and super easy to take with you anywhere.

In terms of highchairs, we currently use the Graco contempo highchair and have really liked it. Last year when we researched high chairs this one was the top rated by consumer reports. I think they are about $100.

I have a Graco high chair for my grandson that I really love. The seat reclines, the heighth is adjustable and it comes with a detachable tray and a smaller permanent tray. It is a space saver and takes up about 6-8 inches when it is folded up. I know they sell them in Wal-Mart, but I think I got mine at Big Lots for about 40 or 50 dollars. The seat cover can be easily removed from the chair for cleaning...but the way it fits on the chair alows for little to no food gettin between the cover and the chair itself. It is also low enough that he can sit at the table with us as opposed to getting a booster seat. My dining room chairs aren't "booster seat" types, so in my situation, this high chair is wonderful.

I think you can get them with Pooh characters but mine has jungle animals on it.

i wrestled with other high chairs for years, got so sick and tired of jamming a butter knife into the cracks and crevices to get it clean. i got flair by boon, and i absolutely love it. it has a very small footprint and could not be easier to clean, it is one piece of plastic, you just wipe it out. you will either think its ugly or cool looking, depends on your taste, but functionally it is wonderful. expensive. doesnt recline, but i dont find that a problem. the straps come right out (without power tools!) for cleaning. i dont even use the cushion anymore. the tray is small, which at first i thought i wouldnt like, but i love it. fits right in the dishwasher, and smaller means less mess and you can pull in closer, or pull him closer to the table to be with us. i couldnt be happier with it.

My daughter has been eating solids for 4 months so, I recently needed a highchair. I needed a space saver and didn't want to spend a lot of money for a chair that would only be used for a short period of time. I decided to purchase the Svan high chair. It is expensive - $250 - but it is compact and fits with all my furniture. It also adjusts to a toddler chair. It will be great as she gets older and our chairs are uncomfortable. I also have a lot of friends that just have a booster chair and never even purchased a high chair. There is a fabulous one by fisher price. I bought it to keep in the car etc.

I had a highchair that was terriable to clean and finally decided to get a new one. We bought an all wood resturant style highchair for my 9 month old and its awsome. We still use this type of highchair at resturants for our 3 year old so it will grown with child. It partily slides under our table and is small so does not take up lots of room. So easy to wipe down and matches all of the wood in our house, and at around $70 with shipping it was a steal. The only down side some may have is there are no trays, but is high enough for kids to sit right at the table. So one less thing to clean. I got ours from overstock.com but they also sell them at Target.com.

We never used a highchair, just a booster seat that straps onto our dining room chairs. The one we have is just a thick foam cushion covered in leather. It has a leather harness for smaller babies or you can flip it over to just use the cushion.

My daughter started sitting on her booster seat when she was about 10 months old and still uses it at 2 1/2 now, but no longer uses the seat harness.

We purchased a Swan Highchair about a month ago, and we love it. It grows with your child, turning into a seat that can be pulled right up to the dinner table for toddlers and young children. A little pricey, but worth it.

I have a chicco and I think its pretty good. I leave the tray in position because its annoying to remove and put back in. It's very safe and I don't worry about leaving him unattended. There is also a 5 point harness if you are really cautious. My friend has a Stokke and I kinda wish I had one of those actually. Its kinda pricey but it has its own try or you can push it up to the table. Her daughter is 2 and still uses it.
