My little boy seems to develop a terrible rash about once a week. I think it's some of the food that he eats. I use A&D Ointment and it's almost completely healed by the next day.
Hi mamas!
My poor baby boy has a TERRIBLE little diaper rash (teething/diarrhea). We keep putting Anti Monkey Butt ointment and Dr. Boudreaux's Butt Paste and niether one has helped much. Butt Paste was a miracle worker for my oldest son, so I'm at a loss as to what will work. Apparently all babies are COMPLETELY different in every way. Duh right, but seriously--even down to what diaper rash cream works best. So...looking for recommendations. I'm willing to buy a little tube of multiple different kinds to see what works at this point. ;) Thanks mamas!
Thank you so much mamas!!! I bought Triple Paste. His little behind looks sooooo much better!!! That stuff is great!

I swore by Super Duper Diaper Doo with my daughter. It worked miracles!!! I had a hard time tracking it down though. Only 2 stores in the Kansas City area carried it. Good luck!
I always used Super Dooper Diaper Doo and it worked great. You can get it at Wal-Mart but some stores make you ask at the pharmacy counter for it. Good luck!
We use the Butt Paste. Desitin burns my son. I would try A&D. That is low-allergy from what I understand.
I like A&D with aloe. Nothing else worked for DD.
I use Burts Bees. Love it.
Hi J.-
I liked 'balmex' when butt paste did not do the trick. It is not as sticky wiping off as desitin can be.
Best Luck!

A&D ointment...it is wonderful for anything from diaper rashes to chapped lips.
Please have a Dr look at it and make sure it's not a yeast infection. Usually an antifungal cream is needed when frequent diaper changes and other ointments don't seem to help. Nurse Midwife Mom of 3
There is one called Flanders, but you need to ask a Pharmist for it. I came from a different state and it wasn't on the shelves, but not a prescription.
Inquire about it because it works! Also, Aveenos Oatmeals baths are good. I would only use a half a packet. Wash and rinse the area, then add
clean water and swish it around to break it up. Good luck....
I know how difficult it is to see him in such pain - I'm so sorry. What worked for us was: First, a bath in Aveeno Baby Soothing Bath Treatment (you can see it at http://www.diapers.com/p/Aveeno-Baby-Soothing-Bath-Treatm...) - be sure his bottom is soaking in the water for about 15-20 minutes – don’t dry his bottom with a towel – just let it air dry. Second, let him air out on a changing pad (just in case he pees, etc.) until he is completely dry. Last, diaper him using your ointment of choice - a really, really thick layer. The ointment that worked for us is the Boudreaux's All Natural Butt Paste (see the image at http://www.diapers.com/p/Boudreauxs-All-Natural-Butt-Past.... It's not as thick (not as pasty) as the original formula, but it worked just as well. If your son is reacting to something synthetic in the original formula, it could be making it even worse. I've been able to find this natural Boudreaux's only in the small tube in the stores, so if it works, you might want to stock up a bit. And not every retailer carries it, so you might want to check that out first. If you feel it's not quite thick or protective enough (it kinda seems that way b/c of its thinner consistency, compared to the original), put some original Boudreaux's on top of it so it's protecting him but not touching his skin. If he has sensitive skin anywhere else, this may not work (if he's reacting to the original), but if it's just the bottom right now, I'd give it a try. Hope this helps...good luck!
I tried every paste known to man I swear until my cousins wife told me about triple paste. My daughter was in a Rhino brace and another harness(she had hip dysplagia) from eight weeks until 5 months. Every diaper had stool in it since her legs were held up and out for her hips to form.
Anyway she had a really bad rash even to the point of skin breakdown the antibiotics didn't help nothing until I started using triple past. I found Walmart sells a 2oz tube for like 6 or 7 dollars and target has tubs of it. It is kind of spendy but who cares if it works.
I hope this helps!
Triple paste and use a hair dryer.
Triple paste has worked wonders for us.
Good luck!
CALMOSEPTINE!!! Best cream ever for my little girl's butt. My baby is super prone to yeast, so we treat that with lotrimin when needed, but then put Calmoseptine on top. It will stick to any open wounds to cover and protect while most won't protect wet open wounds.
My Walgreen's keeps it in the adult undergarments aisle. Some places keep it behind the counter. Check it out. It runs $8-9 a tube, but lasts a while, and is soooo worth it.
I used lanolin from lansinoh.. Yeap, the same cream you can apply on your nipples when you are breastfeeding... It works really GREAT for my son!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck

When nothing else worked I discovered pinx sav. It can only be purchased on-line but does wonders within hours. Well worth the money.
Try generic antifungal cream and put aquifor over it as a barrier...that's the only thing that worked for my son...good luck!
Weleda Calendula Care Diaper Cream. It's amazing. It's a little pricey (I think it's $11.00 a tube), but it lasts forever. A little bit goes a very long way. It's very gentle and heals rashes very quickly.
We have had great luck with Aquaphor Healing Ointment. Great stuff, best deal on amazon. Been using it two years & no rashes!
I did not read your responses, so I don't know if I am a repeat, but put neosporin on and then desitin. It works great with my kids when they have had that!
Triple paste... it is more expensive but works wonders. I can get it a BJ's near me the container is larger than what they sell at drugstores for the same price (or less)
One of my clients had this mixture recommended by her childs dr. Equal Parts: Butt Paste, Antibiotic Ointment, Hydrocortizone Cream and Anti Fungal Cream (such as Lotrimine).
This stuff is GREAT!!!
Good Luck.
don't use desitin b/c if they have a rash it HURTS. the one that worked best for us and recommended by our pediatrician when our son had a really bad diaper rash was something called "triple paste cream" you can get it at target or other drugstores. it's a bit pricey but it doesn't hurt and it works well. good luck! and don't forget to air his butt out so he can heal quicker. and no using wipes! just wash the poop off of him in teh tub instead.
arbonne and if you want some I can get you some. I am ordering a tube today.

Burt Bees diaper cream is working well with my newborn son's horrible hospital rash... with cornstarch powder on top every other diaper.
