I'm in the same boat, trying to buy, make, use better products for my kids and the environment. For laundry, we use planet ultra...we switched to that with the cloth diapers because it has no perfumes/dyes, etc and it works great. For dishwasher detergent, we're using biokleen and it works pretty well. I agree with the other poster about vinegar/baking soda/etc...here are some sites:

You really don't need to buy cleaners from those fancy companies. It's so much cheaper to just make your own, and it cleans just as well.

I use a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle for most of my cleaning. I use it for the kitchen, bathroom, dusting, mopping the floors, washing the windows, etc. When I need extra scrubbing power (cleaning out the sinks/bathtub/toilet) I just sprinkle in some baking soda along with the water & vinegar and then scrub it out. The vinegar & water mixture is also perfect for cleaning fruits & veggies! I also use vinegar in the wash instead of dryer sheets or fabric softener.

This is a great way to clean with kids because it is perfectly safe! You can clean right in front of them, they can get their hands in it or whatever, and you don't have to worry about it.

I do keep some bleach on hand for germy messes, but nothing fancy. I just dilute old fashioned bleach in a spray bottle with water.

Just do a google for "homemade cleaners" or "uses for vinegar" or "baking soda uses," etc. You'll find a ton of stuff.

Whatever you do, DO NOT use bleach! Not even diluted! Bleach is one of the harshest, most dangerous chemicals in your home! And vinegar is NOT a disinfectant! You can google it online. It cleans, yes, disinfects SOME, but not to the extent you would think or want for your family! Melaleuca's products are cheaper, safer and healther, that's why they have a 98% re-order rate and they have grown every year for the last 24 years, even in this tough economy!

I use undiluted vinegar to clean: counters, tile & linoleum floors, windows, tables, in my washing machine as fabric softener & as a rinse aide in my dishwasher. I use denture tablets to clean my toilets (drop 3-4 in the toilet, let them disolve then scrub). I also use baking soda (& water or vinegar) to clean my bath tub.

Vinegar Vinegar, Vinegar

I use Vinegar for almost everything. Its a wonderful cleaner. I use it in place of fabric softner in my wash, I also make my own laundry soap. My friend uses it to clean carpets, her carpets look good for having 3 kids. do a search online and vinegar is a cheap non toxic altenative to chemicals.

Sounds like you're doing well. I am not great about food because of the cost hike and certain foods just don't seem to taste as well (I assume because they are older since the organic produce probably doesn't sell as quickly). As has been mentioned, I think, I love the Shatto milk. I think it tastes better and has none of the hormones.

As far as other stuff... I completely agree with the first poster. Vinegar/water mixture I use for almost everything (surfaces, dusting, cleaning the bathroom, floors, spills on carpet, etc.). If I need to scrub I use baking soda, sometimes a little dr. bonner's soap and a little water (for the sinks when they get bad, the tub, the oven, anything stuck on). It seems that with these few things I can clean almost everything. I also keep hydrogen peroxide on hand for disinfecting and bleaching, Tea Tree oil for certain laundry (by the way, I use bs, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide on laundry too occasionally), it isn't cheap, but the (very small) bottle I bought for $8 2 years ago is still half full and I use it on my cloth diapers.

Here are the products that I actually buy the "store bought" version of, as I can not find a recipe that I really like (and I'm not too big on trying out recipes, after one or two failed attempts, I give up, so you might find great recipes out there)
--Method toilet bowl cleaner "little bowl blue" but if my toilet gets the ring or is really bad, I fill the bowl with vinegar.
--biokleen dishwasher detergent
--dish soap, I buy whatever I find that is natural, havn't found any I don't like
--laundry detergent, just switched, so still figuring that one out, before I just used free&clear versions
--hand soap, sometimes I use dr. bonner's, but mostly I get a natural pump soap, as it is nice with the kids.
--kids bath stuff (I haven't switched for myself, but the extra cost seems worth it for them) I use california baby unscented bath wash and sunscreen, alba shampoo. I just use washcloths and water for wipes (but I cloth diaper, so no big deal)

As far as products you buy, especially dishwasher detergent (which was hard for me to find one I liked) and such, I think you may have to try a few to find one you like. I kind of did one thing at a time. Dishwashing detergent was important to me because we eat off that stuff and it gets in the air with all the steam.

Anyway, this is really long. I hope something helps, I'm going to keep an eye on this post too for ideas for me.

PS. I've found that especially once you figure out what you want drugstore.com is a great place to buy these things, as often they are slightly cheaper and you get free shipping (over a certain price). I usually stock up and don't buy very often. I figure it's better for the environment too, as many of the products I like you can't buy in the stores I frequent, less driving around. Also, they have reviews and ingredients and such.
