I'd pick a lush hotel on the Mag Mile, one with a spa, and spend an entire day with the girls getting facials, wraps, and massages. Then, we'd go out to dinner and have drinks.
Looking to get away with my best friend this year. We don't have an unlimited budget, but we're willing to travel on a plane if need be. We live in the Chicago area...and are looking for a FUN girls weekend idea.
Flights have been so darn expensive!!! We wanted to do Vegas, but the cost of the tickets was prohibitive.
If you could escape for a girls weekend, where would you go??? (Of course, I'd say Hawaii, but that's not practical.) We don't want to spend too much time travelling. Would love your ideas and suggestions for MAXIMUM fun with minimum travel time.
Thanks Mamas!

If I could ditch my kid AND my husband, I'd be happy at McDonalds!
Have fun!
Why not just get some rooms at a really nice hotel in Chicago? There HAS to be a hotel with a spa. Get spa treatments for all of you and then hit the stores. Go to a really nice restaurant for dinner and maybe to a nice bar after. You don't have to go somewhere exotic to get away. The less you spend on travel, the more you have to spend on luxuries :)
Have fun!
You can go on bookit.com and get 3 days in cancun for around $500 each at an all inclusive resort - depending on when you want to go.
It's like a 2 hour flight from Chicago.
That's where I would go - TOMORROW - if I could :-)
Have fun!
You and your friend could go to "The Dells" in Wisconsin. They have resorts there and you could do spa time. I do this with my friends all the time. We live in Houston and the last time they all flew here and we went to San Antonio. FUN FUN FUN.
It depends on your idea of fun. Is that shopping, spa treatments, gambling, shows, the beach... Personally, I would rather spend less on travel so that I have more play money. A first class hotel with a spa and a huge landscaped pool with great shops nearby would be all I need. You could probably find that in Chicago.
I am jealous. Have fun!!!
if you are in chicago, hwo about Mackinac Island in Michigan. They have great state park, bike rides and luxurious hotels with spa packages, etc.
A friend of mine goes there every labor day with her family and just raves about it!
If you didn't know, there are NO motorized vehicles on the island - hence all the great hiking and bike riding.
Good luck with your decision.
Depend on what you like... in Chicago... I'd rent a place by the water for a long weekend (condo or timeshare) and sit by the water all weekend with a couple of trashy books and some wine!
My friend and I went to this spa for a momma's get away and it was AWESOME! Super relaxing and beautiful: http://www.sundaraspa.com/ Highly recommend :-)
I have a time share so this is a little easier for me but I usually pick a place within 3 hrs drive that I can stay in my timeshare with and go! i live in the DC area so there are a lot of places to choose from. We go shopping at the grocery store for food, eat dinner out only and look for deals on the internet of things to do that are fun. With little planning you can have a fun weekend for little to no cost
Head to Galina or Lake Geneva
Road Trip!!!! Hop in the car and head south to St. Louis.
Grab some awesome Italian food on The Hill, head downtown for some live music and stay at a fabulous hotel and spa on the riverfront. The shopping is great and there is plenty to do.
So jealous of you! Have a great time! Let us know where you decide to go!
A water park could be fun. Most of them have spas.
We love South Beach in Miami.
It is a lot of fun, very adult place and I love it.
It does depend on what you like to do... I would not be interested in Vegas or snow skiing. I am a beach girl.
I would check out a long weekend at some all inclusive place - you can get really great deals if you go in the off season!
