My daughter's 8th birthday is coming up soon. We only are doing big birthday parties on the major birthdays....5, 10, 13, 16...and the other years we do a more intimate celebration with one or two friends and do something special. The things my daughter has chosen in the past are Sweet and Sassy (nails and hair), visiting the Cabbage Patch Hospital, and going to Build A Bear. We are trying to brain storm ideas for this coming birthday and I'm hoping maybe you all have some good ideas for us. Thanks in advance for your help!

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your suggestions! She had a great time going through the ideas that were sent. She decided on a Hawaiian Luau themed get together at the house with a couple of her friends, followed by a "camp-out" sleepover. You all are awesome! :)

American girl lunch and tea with their dolls ( if she's into them), roller or ice skating with friends, going to a rock climbing gym, climbing a mountain such as stone mountain and then doing the activities at SM park.
Just some ideas:) good luck!

We are celebrating my son's 8th tomorrow. We are going to tie dye t-shirts. Cheap and fun.

An amusement park is always a fun idea for a birthday outing with a friend or two. Whatever your choose, I hope your daughter has a great time!

Tea party? I did that when my daughter turned 8, and it cost me next to nothing. I have 3 sets of inherited china, so I had all the "pretties".

For food I did finger type foods (pb&j's, pimento cheese cut into hearts with cookie cutters), fresh fruit kabobs and mini cupcakes. I had a cupcake stand and put her candles on the top cupcake. It was fun, cute, and I threw in a few lessons on etiquette at the same time. haha.

They also were told on the invitations to come in their best party dress. I had boas and big easter bonnet style hats for them to wear as well (I'm a dance teacher). It was a blast.

Good luck!
