Do you give your preschool teacher a gift at the end of the school year? If yes, what do you give? I did gift cards for xmas and could do it again but im not sure if im supposed to get anything. This is my first child in preschool.

What can I do next?

I'm giving a gift to my daughter's preschool teachers this week because they are celebrating teacher appreciation week. This may be a crazy gift, but I am giving them a canister of oatmeal, a small bag of dried cranberries and another small bag of walnuts. That way they can have delicious oatmeal for breakfast in the mornings and everything keeps for a while so they don't have to use it right away.....hopefully they will like it :-)

Usually one of the moms collects $5 for each teacher and gets a gift card for them. This way they can buy something for themselves. They have usually enjoyed this gift.

Not everyone gets their teacher an end-of-the-year gift, so they are so greatly appreciated when they are received! I have always given them. Sometimes a gift card, but only if I know the teacher well enough-- like a Starbucks card was great for the coffee addicted teacher but I have been handed them by my mom and a friend who both hate Starbucks and got them as gifts, so that would be a waste of money if you aren't sure. Candles are good, but I personally am not a candle person, so again if you aren't sure then it would be a waste of money. The #1 best thing I love giving to teachers is scented hand sanitizer, lotion, or soap from Bath and Body Works.

When I was teaching some of my favorite gifts from the kids/parents were practical ones like gift certificates to a restaurant/spa or a nice pot of flowers. Always very much appreciated! :)

My students liked to give me Borders and Barnes and Nobel gift cards and I was always more than happy to receive them.

Does your childs class have a room parent? If so then they usually arrange the gift , my daughters room parent is collecting donations (around $10-$20 per family) and buying a gift with that , things like spa voucher , a plant.

Hi,
I plan to give my daughter's preschool teacher hand decorated candles. I started candle decorating last year and everyone has loved them. If you're interested, you can message me privately. My facebook page has pictures: http://www.facebook.com/markthatdate.
Hope this helps!

We have always given a gift at the end of the year. Usually a gift card/certificate. And a card that says something along the lines of "thanks for spending so much time nurturing and teaching my child" here is a little something to nurture yourself. and a gift card to a local salon, or restaurant.

Sounds cheesy but Flowers say a lot to anyone. well mostly women, but its always a good idea and maybe a card for being an excellent teacher to your child. Sounds corny but find a apple shaped vase and put in her favorite flowers, get the little one to ask teacher what her fav flowers are. Keep it simple ;) doesnt have to be extrodinary

I just happened past a Godiva store and saw some teacher gifts in the window. Turns out it's "Teacher Appreciation week" but long story short, I got boxes of Godiva in boxes that look like apples for the teacher and assistant. Not too pricey, $10 each, I think.
