I get REALLY anxious with dentists and would like to find one that is super understanding and patient.

I also need a dentist for my two young children. Perhaps it could be the same dentist, or not.

Anyone know of one near Oakland that they trust and know that she or he is also really good at Dentistry?
I need a Veneer replaced and perhaps other fancy stuff so they must be well trained.

THANK YOU!!!!!
H.

Dr. Fatima Beheshti, D.D.S. is an excellent general and cosmetic dentist in San Leandro. Her practice is called San Leandro Dental (145 East 14th St.) and can be reached at ###-###-####. Give her a call!

I too was super anxious (to the point that I put off going to the dentist for years) before finding her. No more. I never miss an appointment now and look forward to going.

I have an AWESOME pediatric dentist in Berkeley: Dr. Katsura. He's at 3010 Colby St, Suite 217. Phone is ###-###-####. My son is 4 and, while he is shy and tentative in new environments, has come away with really good experiences thus far.

I also have a great dentist as well, but travel to San Francisco to see her. Even though I live in the East Bay now, I'm not willing to seek out a new dentist on this side of the bay since I've had such extensive work done, and we still have a bit more to do. Her name is Katy Karimi and she's at 2001 Union St. Suite 430, SF 94123. Her number is ###-###-####.

Good luck!
M.

H.,
I just switched from my childhood dentist (We moved to Oakland from SF). Our neighbor mentioned that she is a dentist so we checked her out. She is wonderful. Her name is Dr. Nooshan Mirhadi and she has an office above Peet's coffee, right across the street from the Claremont Hotel (with parking!)
She is very gentle and listens intently to what you have to say.
I have recommended friends to her and they have been happy.
Here is her info:

For most of my adult life, I was absolutely terrified to go the dentist -- on several occasions I even had to take something prescribed by my doctor to calm me down -- I go to Willie Woo, DDS at 3300 Webster Street, on PIll Hill in Oakland -- ###-###-####. He is personable, gentle, patient, kind and VERY understanding - His staff is marvelous -- office manager Bonnie has been with him forever...and Dr. Woo's dental assistant Stacy is fabulous -- He is so hands-on he does the dental hygiene and cleanings -- his son is a dentist in the office too -- no other staff in office -- very high-touch -- highly recommended!
Good luck!

I know this is a little late and I'm sure others have answered, but I wanted to recommend Drs. Peterson and Chan of Rockridge Smiles. I have been going to Dr. Peterson since I was a child and truly trust everyone in the office. My entire family goes to the office for their dental needs ( I even convinced my husband who had neglected his teeth for years). They are located at the top of College Ave in Oakland (near Broadway). Their office number is ###-###-####. I hope this helps!

Greetings H., I want to give you the name of our dentist. He is a wonderful man and gentle with everyone. I have a special needs child and he is tender hearted about explaining everything and being honest about if he thinks that someone else should do work he is not sure about.
Dr. D. Crockett 22296 Main Street, Hayward Ca. the phone number is -- ###-###-####.
I can honestly say that I was terrified of the dentist because of past experiances and Dr. Crockett, was very compassionet about it. I ave seen him explain to my children when they were young everything he was to do before he started. He is very well trained and again, if he doesn't think he can do something he will give suggestions of who to go to. Good Luck, Nana Glenda Springer

Highly recommend Dr. Les Hata in Rockridge http://www.nvo.com/hatadds
He has a very small office (solo, not group practice) but is very knowledgeable (his father is also a dentist, now semi-retired), honest (doesn't 'push' things like sealants etc. unless he thinks they're really necessary) and skilled and has a very calm easygoing manner. My kids (8YO, one mildly high functioning autistic/asperger syndrome) go there as well.

If you're looking for a pediatric dentist - my kids enjoyed going to Dr. Khosrovani at the Berkeley Pediatric Dentistry group (Drs Wampler, Katsura, Khalil, et. al.) and lots of their friends go there. They have a very kid-friendly set up but their prices are on the expensive side if you're not carrying dental insurance (we aren't, that's the main reason we switched our kids to Dr. Hata's office) http://www.alohakidsdds.com/
