Peggy,
Fast Forward is a reading fluency program. If your son only has a fluency problem, then this might be the program for him. If he has a fundamental issue manipulating the sounds of speech into reading and writing then what he needs is a Dyslexia Instructional Program, Alphabet Phonics, Orton Gillingham kind of program. Does he qualify for a program at school? You should ask for this if not.
Audio processing programs like LIPS from Linda Mood Bell are terrific.
I would not waste my money (but more importantly, his time) on a program that is not targeted to help his problem.
What kind of evaluation do you have, and what are the recomendations? If you have not invested in a private evaluation, a neuropsychologist would give you a good picture of what he needs. The school should evaluate too, but you should never know less than they do, and you should own the evaluation that contains any diagnosis.
