At that age (3), kids just want to play. They are really just truely getting in to cooperative play. Just having some toys out and let them at it.
For the older kids, have a couple card games to choose from.
My boy is turning three in July and we have a martial arts birthday planned for him. The party is going to have a martial arts demonstration, some time for the kids to learn a few easy fun moves, and face painting. I also want to have a couple games on hand, in case we need an activity. Since I won't be at my own home I don't want to do anything messy. I would like games for all ages bc there are going to be a lot of kiddos from age 2-11. Any ideas on great group games?

Freeze dance. Red rover. Musical squares/chairs, simon says (or reverse simon says for the older kids - they have to do the opposite of what you say, so if you say "simon says step forward" they step back). Three legged races. Walk so far with a book on your head. Freeze tag.
Have fun!
Hi. We did this for my son's birthday last year. It was awesome!! Loads of fun. They even had me and Dad break boards.
I had a theme of Ninja Turtles. I bought masks, and rings for the kids. Even the instructors liked them and went running around the dojang wearing the masks. Here is the link in case you are interested.

I also got name tags that I put on all of the kids and parents. This helped the instructors know the kids. The kids thought it was awesome that the cool instructor knew their names!
You won't have much down time, and you can ask the instructors to get things started as soon as there are like 4 kids there.

I love the idea of catching bubbles with a butterfly net. Use one of those machines otherwise you'll pass out from the blowing (lol), but the kids can run around in the area, it leaves little mess and is really fun for all ages and lets them burn off a lot of steam. The nets can even be part of the gift basket. I know not very marial artsy, but a lot of fun.
Pinatas and pin the tail on the donkey (or belt on the Black Belt) are classics for a reason!
I'm with Christina. Never had luck coraling 3 -4 year olds for games. make a variety of activities available and let them play!
Do an "easter egg hunt" but hide something more towards your theme maybe. My son's first bday party we hid frogs all over the living room (little plastic ones). The 3 yr old, 5 yr old, and 7 yr old all loved playing.
I've been to a party where they hid dinosaurs all over their backyard.
You could always do "Pin the leg on the Karate guy" or maybe you could pin his belt on him.
My daughters school just had a field day - for her entire K-garten grade. They had tons of fun things for the kiddos to do - all outside so you wont have to worry about tearing up someones house.... other than washing up hands and restroom breaks.
They had small kiddo pools filled with water that they put 20 paces away from the throw line and had plastic frogs the kids tossed in - line 1 was worth 1 point, line 2 was 2 points, line 3 was 3 points.... each kid had one toss per turn and added up their points after a certain number of tosses.
They also filled small beach buckets with bubble solution and all types of bubble toys so the kids could make all types of bubbles....
They also had the kiddo pools filled with water, sponges and 5 gallon buckets and the kids had to race back and forth - soak up the water in the sponge and wringe it out in the 5 gallon bucket and see whos team could fill the bucket up first.
Plus lots of sidewalk chalk - never such a thing as too much - no matter what age the kids are!
I hope these thoughts are of some help to you.... Have fun whatever you decide to do.
