I recently went to this place called Silo. There is one on Austin Hwy and another on 1604 on the access road near Blanco. It is pricey, but a nice elegant atmosphere. I heard a place called Houlihans was okay to.
i'm going out to eat tonight with my girlfriend....any restaurant suggestions? somewhere that the food is good and a fun atmosphere.
we went to "Bin 555"...it's a tapas restaurant. fun atmosphere, great food...a little pricey for the small amounts that you receive. thanks for all your recommendations!

My favorite place to go w/my girlfriend is Paesanos at Bitters...or riverwalk...when at the riverwalk we put our name on the list...go get a martinia at Swig's...listen to the jazz and then go eat...if we are feeling up to it...we hit the disco at Polyesters...now called something else (above Joe's)...Have fun.
Hey...mom and dad from Chicago so plenty of family there...practically grew up there...how I miss the "taste"...I actually took my son there a few years back...but it was a complete downpour :O
If you like ethnic, there is a great Mediterranean/Turkish restaurant on 410 and Fredericksburg, on the eastbound side. It's called "Turquoise." Lovely food and atmosphere. My book club has met there several times. (I know you already went out, but for future reference!)
The Melting pot is a GREAT place. It's a fondue restaurant at Bitters and Blanco. And it takes all evening! Food is great, atmosphere and waitstaff are great too.
Also - we just tried the new restaurant at the Colonade (I10 and Wurzbach) called Wasabi. It's a sushi restaurant and the chefs are FUN FUN FUN!!!!!! They do not have liquor, only beer and sake (if you drink). But it's one of our new favourite places!!!
Go to The Magic Time Machine. All the servers look and act like a character such as beetle juice, captain jack sparrow, v for vendetta and much more. We had my mothers 50th birthday there with a huge group and it was a blast but it also is fun for two. If you go I would recommend the roast beef. I realize my answer is a bit late but it's a really fun place.
