Here's the deal: we have a 13 month old who we can leave with a sitter. No issue.
Our issue is this:
We have no idea what to do for dates. Neither of us drink and our funds are a little limited, going to Philly isn't something we can easily do.
What are some good places to go, not just for dinner but either to wander around, shows, or whatever? Please help, we're so bored with Applebee's.
Mabye when the weather gets warmer, go miniature golfing. There are a few places in Chester County. ONe in Phoenixville, not sure if that's too far for you. maybe just walking around Longwood Gardens. Bowling?
I have asuggestion to make a nice dinner more reasonable, go to a site called Resaurant.com. You can get gift certificates to area restaurants. $25.cert. for $10, $10 certificates for $3.). They do have stipulations like you have to spend X amount dollars but using the certificates should bring down your bill close to an Applebees dinner. They sometimes have specials when you can get the certificates much cheaper,
For a few years now my husband have been doing this: We do not have family around to take care of our girls when we want to go out and don't like to leave them with people we dont know well (friends) so, we do "date night" at home. We put the kids to bed at normal time and then cook a really nice dinner together and then play games or watch a rented movie and just relax and talk and be together. We do this at least once a week and it is wonderful.
This doesn't happen until the summer but great summer ideas for date night, West Chester has swinging thursdays, first Friday in June free gallary walk, there are a couple of towns that do free concert night. You can get discount tickets to musuems at rec centers. Some coffee places has music at night. Also the Weekender of the Daily local lets you know of things around the area that are fun and interesting. As the others said the less expenses date is date night at home, dinner and a movie or even a board game. Have fun
just a silly idea but i know that it can be lots of fun..how about going to a clothing store or costume store and each trying on sexy or funny outfits for eachother. (bathing suits, lingerie, totally ridiculus outfits...just for laughs ....it's goofy, silly, sexy and raw fun. just like when you were teenagers! Another idea is going to a cooking class together, or pottery class together, or dancing class together. Just being together without the little one is great from time to time.
