can anyone give me some advice on what are some great daycare/ prek schools in the frisco area? Also, what is the best age to begin daycare? I have an only son who is 7 months and i want him to get some exposure to other kids and environments outside of my house and the park. he seems bored... haha! I dont want to push him into anything too soon though... thx!

What can I do next?

I agree with the posting about Primrose Schools! You can't get any better! I know the location on Coit and Hedgcoxe in Plano has openings and they also offer part time options such as 3 day a week and 2 day a week programs. I think this would be a great place to start your child out! The number there is ###-###-####. Good Luck on your search!

My daughter attends Primrose in lakehill. (there are others, it's a chain) and I have nothing but amazing things to say about the place. They do sensory activites, music classes, shapes, colors, sign language, spanish, you name it. She has plenty of words already and signs great!!! She is now 13 months old and has been there since she was 12 weeks. Now, they dont have part time programs.

Merryhill school in Frisco off Gaylord/tollway has like 3 day a week programs and they are pretty much dead on with Primrose. They have almost identical daily routines. I would give them a call, I spoke to the woman at the desk the other day and she was SO nice and helpful, if you dont go there, she will lead you in the right direction.

Both are on the pricey side, but well worth it. hope this helps :)

You could always join a play group, find some moms with kids his age, go to the library for reading time and just get out a little more. My daughter is 3 years old and I plan on starting her in a pre-k whens he is 4, maybe 2 days a week. I just want her to get used to going to school a few days a week before she gets to kindergarten and it is every day. I think that might be a shock to her system =) We are in a play group in our neighborhood and we also have friends with kids her age that come over all of the time to play. I think that is enough for now. I figure she will spend her next 15-20 years in school, why start her early. That is my personal opinion but each child is different. If you have the ability to stay home with him than I would take advantage of that.
