J. - are you running humidifiers at home? I have sensitive sinuses and have to run humidifiers in the bedroom and rec room (tv/computer room where I spend a lot of time). It makes a world of difference.
I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I have been getting sinus headaches almost daily, I thought it was my allergies but now that we are into the winter months I"m not so sure. I stopped using my nasal spray in October and now have started it again. The border on what I would consider migraine status causing nausea and eye and tooth pain. If anyone has any suggestions that would be helpful.

I used to have very frequent sinus headaches and it turned out I developed food allergies (explains why I had them in the winter). I eliminated the foods and they went away. With food allergies you could get a reaction as long as 3 days later!
Other than that, I switched to herbal allergy remedies like quercetin/bromelain. They work great with no side effects!
You have a sinus infection and may need antibiotics. Call the doc for an appointment. I also use a neti pot to help flush out all the goop from my sinuses. You can get one at whole foods or other health food stores. Get the salt that they have to. that helps clean out the sinus'. I will do this once a day normally, but when I feel a cold or more sinus pressure i will do it twice a day. I have been able to get through infections without antibiotics using the neti pot. I still have an infection but a lot of sinus infection are viral and antibiotics don't do anything for it. If when using the neti pot and the symptoms have not gotten better after 10-14 days then it is probably an infection that warrants meds.
Winter is the worst time for my allergies and that is always when I get the worst sinus infections. You are cooped up and if you are like me, I'm allergic to dust, so the winter time is worse because I don't get fresh air.
And I swear I'm allergic to snow. I think it is the pollution that is in it.
Hi J.!
I am so sorry you are going through this! I know how awful both sinuses and migraines are! I have spent many nights in the ER because the only thing that would help was Morphine... they were that bad!!!!
When I was prego with my daughter I got a severe migraine and called the Drs office to ask if Morphine was safe and if it was I was going to the ER. The nurse practitioner gave me a different thing to try first and if it did not work to call her back in 30 minutes. I never had to call her back!
Ok, this is gonna sound strange but here is the "recipe" of what she gave me....
1 can of Coke
2 Tylenol
1 Chlortrimeton Allergy Pill in the green box
I took Mountain Dew, 2 Excederin and the Chlortrimeton. Within 15 minutes it took the edge off of a severe migraine and after the second dose it was completely gone.... I wish I would have known about this at the start of it. Now anytime I start to get one I take that and within 15 minutes it is completely gone!!!
My hubby thought I was a nut case doing this until he had a migraine and instead of putting the pills in his hand (he was laying down) I put them in his mouth and he was great after about 30 minutes.... he was shocked when I told him what I did! lol
The benefit of taking the two together is a pain reliever and an allergy pill. The majority of migraines are caused by allergies also!
Give it a try... and if you are leery about combining the meds like I was just ask a pharmacist! Good luck, I hope you are free of pain as quickly as I was!
Blessings to you and yours!
I just wanted to thank you for your post, I have been experiencing the EXACT same thing. I am 32 years old and I have never had allergy/sinus problems until this year. I am going to try the suggestions below. Good Luck!
J.-cut dairy out of your eating completely-cheese, milk and anything related. 90% of the time this is the trigger and also is mucus forming which gives you the sinus issues.
