As long as it has always been properly sealed and has remained completely frozen, it will be safe for a very long time. A minimum of two years, often longer.
I grocery shop every week so we eat almost everything in the fridge freezer with 2-3 weeks. My MIL is moving out of state and gave us the contents of her deep freeze. There is alot of meat steaks, ground beef ground chicken etc. Some of it is 6-8 months old though. Is it safe to eat? How long can meat safely been frozen?

If it has been kept in a deep freeze, damn near forever. A deep freeze is not frost free so it doesn't defrost itself every day. As such there isn't the stress of temperature variations.
Totally fine. Meat can last forever in a deep freeze. You're good!
It should all be fine.
Might be a bit freezer burned here and there but you can still make a good stew or chili or meatloaf with it.
Get the crock pot going and keep using it up till it's gone.
It is totally safe to eat... there may be a bit of freezer burn after a while, but that usually affects texture, not whether or not it is "safe" to eat.
As long as there is no freezer burn, I'd eat it.
Definitely safe.
My grandma used to buy a whole cow every few years, and just cook as she needed it. No one ever got sick off of the meat.
Now that you have it in your fridge freezer, I would try to eat it within the next few months though. Have one last big barbecue with your friends before winter hits! ;)
eat it!

Perfectly fine to eat, if wrapped properly, meat will last up to 2 years.
If meat looks dry, make a stew!
