I'm 36...I used to always freeze my Capri Suns in elementary school! Very refreshing when lunchtime came around (just never try to defrost them in the microwave! HA! Luckily my parents weren't home to see the sparks fly)
School began and it is HOT in az. have you ladies freezed juice boxes, capri suns, bottles in plastic and such to keep these drinks cool ??? Also by the time they drink it at 11:00am, will it be melted and cold or slushie ? Thanks for your input.

When we lived in Gilbert, the kids were allowed to have a water bottle at their desks. My daughters were sure to freeze their water bottle every night before school so they could sip extra cold water every day! Also, if it was only partly unfrozen in the morning, they would drink what they could and refill it with water from the drinking fountain for ice water.
My kids like a drink right when school gets out before they come home so when I pack their lunches (including the juice drink) I add a frozen mini water bottle as the ice pack in the lunch bag. The only thing left in the lunch bag when i get it back is what they didn't eat and the bottle which I would refreeze(unless it is totally empty, then they toss it). My kids wouldn't drink the "frozen" juice/sports drinks because they taste "diluted" and think I'm pulling a fast one on them.
yup, helps keep the rest of the lunch cool too :-). We use the Rubbermaid "Litterless" reusable juice boxes (like this: http://www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-3117RDSPA-Litterless-Jui...) . I freeze them overnight and if my kids tell me the drinke was too frozen at lunch time, I'll take them out of the freezer when I get up in the a.m. and let them thaw out on the counter for 30-60 min before packing it in their lunch boxes.
Yes I have done that for my children. The juices freeze well and they do thaw out well. You might want to do a trail check at home first maybe on the weekend? Just freeze night before and place in their lunch bag in the morning and wait and see if it thaws out by the time they have lunch. You also might try a variety of juices and see which thaws more completely and which stays more slushy at the time of lunch. Hope this helps.
last year i froze my daughters drinks. by the time i packed her lunch and got her to school in the morning by 8am it was already thawing. so by 11am. it should be thawed enough to drink.
We were stationed in the Philippines when I was a kid and this is what we did every day for school. I would just suggest that if you do a capri sun or juice box that you test it and make sure it doesn't expend so much that it breaks the package. It's a great way to keep the the rest of the lunch cool!
