My son just turned 2 and is still wearing the footsie type sleepwears. However, his toes are big and are wearing off holes in the footsies. I am shopping for more but cannot realy find more in his size.

I am wondering at what age do your children stop wearing sleepwears with footsies? and do you have any suggestions on next steps? thanks!

I stopped with the footsie sleepers when I started potting training him.

I buy the thermal packaged "Just one year" 2 piece long sleeve pj's in the winter. Then I just buy the 2 piece cotton shorts sets from target or the GAP outlet in the cooler months.

You can buy them online in every size, and get some good deals, too. I liked the footsie sleepers a lot, because my kids would never wear slippers in the mornings before they were dressed, or in the evenings before they went to bed. They either went barefoot, and got dirty feet and stubbed toes, or they would run around in their socks, and wear holes in them. So footsie sleepers were great, especially in the winter.

Hi Cathy,

My six year old has some that I bought at Target this winter in the regular boys' department. Of course, they may not carry as many now as they are out of season.

For my four year old, I think I bought them at Carter's.

Good luck!

Hi Cathy
I don't think you have to stop wearing those footsie PJs at any age, I have even seen them for adults, although I wouldn't wear them, I think some do :)
however, you could try regular PJs and just put on some non-stick socks. I found that CWDkids (online) has many cute cotton pajamas from which to choose, although no footsies.
When it was cold, we just put socks on my son. Sometimes the footsies just got too hot..
best of luck to you!

Considering we are coming into the warmer weather I don't see why you can't change him up now. He is also old enough to pull a blanket over himself when he gets cold. Make sure that the vent in his room is either shut or turned away from where he is sleeping. You can try socks but IMO they are a waste of time because they just get kicked off at night. =) You can even try tucking his blanket in at the bottom of his crib. OR, if you must have socks...sew a pair onto the end of a pair of jammies you like.

I have seen really cute 2 and 3 piece pajama sets at Kohls', Target, WalMart, and Babies R Us. They come with a shirt, pants, and shorts. That's what both of my children have.......3 year old and 22 month old.

Its out of season. They will be back. They make them all the way up to size 14 or more. Costco will start carrying them around Sept-ish

I think my kids were wearing footed jammies up until preschool - maybe around size 3T or so they went from the one-piece to the two-piece with snaps at the waist (I used to get them at KidsRUs or from the secondhand store). The fleece sleepers with feet they wore longer.
Costco has the best prices for the fleece sleepers (Carters for around $10 or less i think) but it's a seasonal item so they probably don't have them now.
