My son was like that its really just trial and error of a variety of foods! My son around 3 started eating alot better but from age 1 -3 it was extremely hard. he is still picky but he eats more consistant now.
My son is 13 months old and is a very picky eater. He likes something one day and the next day he wont even try it. Does anyone have any ideas for what to feed a one year old. Also, is it too early to give him Peanut Butter?

Liking and not-liking is the usual for a little one. I've read that it can take exposure of a food up to 17 times before a child determines that they like it consistently. Picky eaters can also be kids with a food allergy, so be careful, even if food allergies don't run in the family (like mine). Nuts of all types should not be given until the child is 3 to allow the digestive system more time to develop. Our daughter has a life-threatening allergy to nuts - you do not want this - so I advise waiting.
There are several good books for feeding kids under two - so check the library or bookstore.
Enjoy him!

my daughter will be 17 months old this month and I am going through a similar thing. A few foods she LOVES are spagetti, mac and cheese with ground beef in it, homemade shephards pie is my favorite thing to make her because its loaded with veggies!!! I have the hardest time getting her to eat veggies so I make a lot of casseroles. If you want a few of my recipes that she likes let me know!!
Good luck!!
