Consultations are almost always entirely free. (With or without insurance.) Go to one and see what they say. Arm yourself with questions about the cost and insurance coverage.
Thanks everyone who answered in droves my wart vs. scar question!
To those who suggested a cosmetic surgeon: I really can't afford such a luxury as I doubt insurance would cover it. Did anyone who used one for this or mole purposes get covered by insurance? If not, was it insanely expensive? I am unemployed and seriously this would not be in budget.
@Christine: I am under my husband's plan, even when I was working.

ES - you won't know unless you try. So GO to a plastic surgeon. Call your insurance company and ask the question on which doctors will do the procedure and how much they will cover.
My experience that I described was covered 100% by my insurance.
A consultation should be free or minimal charge to give you an estimate if what needs to be done and what charges to expect.
I saved my insurance a boatload of $$ by doing it in the office. HOWEVER.... We had previous experience with this surgeon, per my response, and we knew what to expect.
Best wishes.... Get an estimate!!! You don't know until you ask!!
What I described before (the surgeries on my face for squamous cell carcinomas with huge "roots") were entirely covered by Aetna. I see that you are unemployed...do you have cobra coverage?
My insurance at the time(s) covered it. I don't remember which insurance companies I was covered under.
