What are you willing to pay for a personal trainer? What are you willing to pay for a boot camp/group fitness class? What are the going rates in your area for these services?

What can I do next?

just wanted to add. If you do get a trainer, try ONE session out first.. they will try and sell you more and say it's cheaper that way, which is it.. BUT.. it' s never cheap enough If it turns out, you don't gel with the trainer. it's hard to tell upfront without doing a session or two first. I had a trainer whereby I purchased 10 sessions upfront.. then after about two, I realized what a dud the was.............. lesson learned.. do one or two. see if the trainer really understands fitness and if they are right for you..

I have a close friend in the Dallas area who is a personal trainer. He is very good and very requested.

He gets 150/hr.

Our gym is about 50-60/hr. I did bootcamp 3X/wk and it was about 160/mo. I personally think it is crazy expenisve. Although I did do it for awhile, I'm not sure how the average person affords it.

It's not in my budget to hire a personal trainer right now so I just work out at the gym. I did want to mention to you though that you may want to check out the websites groupon.com and livingsocial.com. Both offer daily deals and I've seen several deals for a month of bootcamp classes for $25, or something like that.

We have a chain in Michigan (not sure if they are else where?) and the Personal Trainers charge $35-45 for 30 min sessions and they offer specials every now and again for $25 for 30 mins. You have to be a memeber of the gym, but that fee is Cheap, cheap, cheap.

A couple years ago I paid $100 a month unlimited for CrossFit boot camp classes. My friend pays $75 an hour for a personal trainer, once a week, and he works with both her and her husband, at their home.
