Fish Oil Supplement Recommendations

My Dr suggested I start taking fish oil daily. She didn't have a recommendation or anything.
So I went and bought the same brand as the multivitamin I take daily. It says to take 3 daily with any meal. So since dinner is the biggest meal I decided to take them then. I have been taking them for a week, and realized they make me feel ill! Like nauseated and bloated uncomfortable type of ill. Tried to take one with each meal, and then I am burping a gross fish flavor all day!
So what do you take? Or what do you recommend?

What can I do next?

One with each meal is usually better than three at once. Try keeping them in the freezer.

If you have this type already, look for fish oil capsules with an enteric coating. This delayd breakdown so they open in the intestine rather than the stomach.

Instead of ingesting it, use it like a lotion on your hands and wear cloth gloves. This way you can be sure of the dosage, because the skin will only absorb what it needs. Probably best if this is done at night before going to bed. Your skin will only take as much as it needs.

It may be an issue with quality and not necessarily fish oil per se that bothers you. I’m a nutritionist and knowing what fish oil product to buy can be confusing. The type of fish oil product and amount of epa and dha needed also depends on why the dr recommended it. What brand are you using and how much epa and dha in the 3 cap serving? If it is a generic store brand, toss it.
