I am wondering if I could be further along than what I thought? Everyone thinks I'm gonna have my daughter a lot sooner than October which is the month of my due date. I have no idea what to do!! She is already positioned head down to so I think she might come sooner than what was said. I need help to figure this out I'm confused.

What can I do next?

The baby can be head down , and even engaged from quite early , my 2nd child was almost fully engaged from 32 wks and I was convinced I would have her early , however I went 6 days past my due date. Ultra sounds are pretty accurate , and if your U/S matched up with how many weeks along you were then I would say it is pretty certain that you are due when you think you are , yes baby could come early but who knows , and the due date is just a guess based on the first day of your last period , so no-one ever knows for sure exactly when baby was concieved.

Your baby may just be saying "ok I'm done I wanna meet you now". Every woman is different. You don't have to go a full 9 months to have a beautifully healthy baby. If I knew how big it was and how fast it has developed I may be able to tell you more. But if it's only 7 months it may be unhealthy.

Good luck!!! :)

I am due Oct 30, and everyone is always saying "Any day now?" And I'm like "yeah, any day in Oct..." lol. I just asked my doc and he said that i am measuring right at 29 weeks. So you can always ask your doc or you could ask for another ultrasound. Good luck!!

From the time they could feel her through my abdomen, and on every US (3 total) my baby was always head down. Some babies stay that way until delivery, which could equal months. Sometimes family and friends say you will deliver early due to anticipation of meeting the new baby, or if you're really showing (if your really big). Ask your doctor to measure you, and tell the doc your concerns regarding your due date (he might give you another US).
Also, due dates aren't exact. My OB/GYN kept giving me later due dates based on how I was measuring. I ended up delivering my baby 4 weeks early, spur of the moment (almost no labor). Even after she was out the doctors debated how early she was. Her weight and length wasn't typical preemie measurements (6.7 lbs and 17.5 in) , but her features/developement showed she might have been earlier then 36 weeks. If you were to look at her now, you would never even know she was early. =)
You could, very well be further along then what was thought. It's entirely possible also. Just take a breath and talk to your OB/GYN. Good Luck! =)

Baby can be head down for quite a while and sometimes they even change positions from there. Remember at 38 weeks baby is considered full term but due date is calculated for 40 weeks. Depending on what day you are due this could be the difference between Oct. and Sept. with baby coming as early as Sept. 16 if your due date would be Oct. 1 Which is really only about a month away. But babies come when they come. My son was 2 weeks early. Your baby is probably just makin' plans to get outta there. Good LUCK with her I hope she is healthy and beautiful!!!!...And don't worry!

It's possible, but probably unlikely to be that far off. Learn this now...everyone is an expert when it comes to your child! ;) You are probably uncomfortable but it may only get worse, I'm sorry to say, especially in this heat! My advice is to laugh it off and get used to it...once the baby comes everyone will have lots of other advice to pass on!

My daughter was due in February, but came three weeks early. They can get positioned a long time before they are actually ready to come, but like other people have said (and from my own experience), that is no guarantee they will stay that way. "Due Dates" are really "Guess Dates" anyways, your baby could easily come a few weeks before or a few weeks after and be just fine. To avoid the "am I done yet" experience, get yourself psyched to go a week or two after your due date, but make sure you have at least all the basics three weeks before. That way if baby comes before that time, you are ready, but it is more of a pleasant surprise.
