Hello Ladies,

My friend and I have been visiting preschools for the upcoming school year. Both of them are currently attending another school right now but we are looking for one with more acedemics. Our daugthers will be 5 in Aug and Sept. We have visited both First Baptist and Northwood here in Keller and would love to hear your opinions good and bad for both schools. First impressions we liked both schools.
Thanks.

We went to Northwood and we loved it last year for the 2-3 year olds this year my 4 year old had a different experience with his teacher. We pulled him this year for the fact we were paying for thing s he already knew but he still misses it and ask to go back all the time. But have heard great things for the 4-5 year old program it just cost more than most preschools. But would highly recommend it.

I don't know anything about either of these schools, however...

Messiah Lutheran Church in Keller has both an Early Childhood Center (ages 2-5), and a Classical Academy (Grades K-8). Since your daughters will be 5 in August and September, they might be able to stay in the "older" pre-K/K-4 class at the Early Childhood Center, or might be better placed in the Kindergarten class at the Academy. Contact Natalie Anderson at ###-###-#### and she will be able to talk to you about what the Academy offers, assess your children's needs, and answer all your questions. Messiah offers strong Christian values - and outstanding academics. My children attended Messiah, then transferred into AP classes at the high school level, and have done very well. My oldest is in the top 6% of her class, and was just accepted into the University of Texas at Austin -- in part because of the strong academic foundation she received from Messiah.

Please check out Messiah. If you have questions, let me know.

all three of my boys went/go to FBC Keller's KIDS program from 18 months on, I love it there! the teachers are wonderful, and with three kids I about know them all, LOL. We still have ther rest of this year to go, then we will be through with pre K and on to Kindergarden, but I will miss them, they are like family. My oldest is 9 and started at 2, my youngest is 4 and will finish this year, so I've had kids there for 7 years total. All of my kids have been or will be well prepared for their primary school experience. I don't regret my dicision to go th FBC in any way.

I don't know anything about Northwood so I can not comment about them, I know people that attend church there, and they like it, we attend at FBC and are very happy there, good luck!

We have been at fbc Keller for the past 2 school years and have been very pleased. Our daughter went there for pre-k and was very prepared for kindergarten (went in reading at the level that they wanted her on in the begining of 1st grade). I have heard similar stories from friends of ours as well. Our son started in the 3 year old (turning 4's) class this year and has already learned quite a bit more than we expected. We love that they have Spanish and Music in addition to all of their regular classroom activities. The teachers have also been wonderful.

I don't know anyone at Northwood but know that when I was teaching a few of my families had kids there too. They always had good things to say about their program as well.
