That's not a worrisome fever. If it gets up above 102, I'd be more concerned. But there is probably an advice nurse on call if you want reassurance.
With a baby this young my pediatrician always said 100.4 Technically 99.2 is not an actual fever, but my doc always said better safe than sorry in the first few weeks with a new baby.
at least 101 or higher
above 102, anything lower is "low-grade" and nothing to be worried about unless it has been more than 72 hours.
My doctor said ANY fever in a baby that young is serious and I should bring them in...... Our youngest (now 4 months) had a slight cold at 1 month old. Even though he wasn't running a fever, they had me bring him in to check him over.
When in doubt, CALL THE DOCTOR/NURSE! I've called the hospital at all hours of the night when I have a sick child and I have questions!
Due to your childs young age I would call the doctor regardless. The worse that can happen is that you will be told to wait it out.
I would think it would be unusual for a child that young to be ill already.
Good luck!
I had also heard from my midwives at least 100.4 in a new born. As they get a little bit older the temp can go up a little. Anything else going on that you've noticed?
