Children's pool in La Jolla, tide pools at Cabrillo momument, flower fields when they are in bloom. A Zoo membership is a tax deduction and that includes the Wild Animal Park. Lake Murray.
I am trying to put together a calendar of all of the free things to do with kids near San Diego. I keep finding new things and I am trying to put them all in one place, so I am building a google calendar that has everything on it. I am looking for things that are free on a repeating basis, like the Museums in Balboa Park on Tuesdays. I have found a number of things, but I know that I am missing a ton as well. So, what is your favorite free activity to do with your little one, or with your family in San Diego?
Thanks in advance for all of your help!

I heard a rumor that if you go to Legoland around 4pm, they will let you in for free until closing. The park usually closes at 6pm, so it's a quick trip. Otherwise, I would pay for the Model Mom pass.
La Jolla Shores is also fun (beach and playground).
I love taking my daughter to the park by Fiesta Island (north of Sea World by Mission Bay)... it's HUGE and she loves it! If you walk a little bit you can easily find ducks to feed, and there are other smaller playgrounds all along the bay there. I would love to know about the other places you have found... any way you could email the list to me?
Santee lakes has ducks and play areas and lots of walking and if you park outside it's free.
