I love to give books, especially, poetry, children's classics or my childhood favorites.
The most memorable gift given to me was a framed, black and white photo that my husband gave me when were were dating. I didn't expect it and the subject was something I loved and had mentioned in general conversation a long time beforehand. His remembering that showed that he was really into me and not just looking for a good time. I still have that photo and it's hanging where I'm sure to see it every day and it always brings a smile to my face.

For children - books
For weddings - Christmas ornaments or large pasta/fruit bowls...
Most memorable gift -- a dear friend of my husband's gave us a gold coin with a note that said, "may you never be poor" on our wedding day. We still have that small coin. It is a treasured item. Another favorite wedding gift was our mantel clock - the giver, my husband's best friend, died of melanoma a few years back. We see that clock every single day and we always think of him.

I love to give or receive really scrumptious coffee..mmmm :) The most memorable was when I was pregnant with my first son a couple who was not related to us gave us a really nice glider rocker, it was awesome! I am having baby three and still using it and I always think of how generous that was when I rocking my sleepy babies off to dream land :D

My husband works for Johnson's Wax and they have a company store. I usually buy a bag of stuff. Scrubbing Bubbles wipes, Glade sprays, Windex, candles, Ziplock bags and containers. Works GREAT for teacher presents and I can get a ton of stuff and they are thrilled.

It's a little off the beaten path because it's not like everybody can do it. I made three bags for the summer school teachers and cost me less than $25.00 and that stuff would retail for almost three times that.

My mom and my sister and I have been doing this for a couple of years now for any thing from Birthday to Christmas present, we will find a pretty unique container ( my mom found a small chest one year that was adorable!) but we use baskets or whatever and fill it with a bunch of different bath gels, bubble bath, bath salts etc. All different brands and scents. It is so much fun, and it lasts a long time. Maybe it is just us, but we love to have something special to put in our baths.
