We have had great success with craigslist. We have sold both a motorcycle and an OLD car, both were gone with in a week.
Good Afternoon, I need to sell a car quickly and wondering what is the fastest way i could do that? its an older car and since it dosnt fit in my garage, its been sitting outside and someone broke into it last night. Any ideas? my street doesnt get a lot of traffic..or if anyone, is looking for a hooptie, let me know.
tthaks in advance for all your help.
Good Morning Ladies, thank you for all your input. I did post the car on craiglist. I had about twelve responses immediatly AND they car is sold. Thank you for all your help.

Don't do Craigslist! I posted my car on there and got 2 scammers...had I not thought about how shady it was, I could have lost thousands of dollars. I used Vehix.com and Carmax and both worked well!
Craigslist did not work. Posted on Yahoo Autos and Autotrader (lots of inquires). However, when we decided to move put for sale signs in the vehicles and they sold in one day. First vehicle (98 rodeo) bought by a guy from one the lawn mower services for one of the neighbors and the other vehicle (97 maxima) bought by one of our movers.
Make sure you print off proper documents for selling a vehicle this is what we did: "Vehicle Transfer Notification" (for you to send to the state for your own protection), "Vehicle Title Application", "Vehicle Transit Permit" (for if you keep the plates to force the person to register the vehicle).

If none of that works try: going to a buy here pay here lot, carmax, sell for parts, advertise at a local college etc.. Good luck hope it sells soon.
Donate it to Dallas Can Academy and get a tax write off.
Secondly, Craigslist. We put my perfect condition, low mileage red Miata on there about 2 yrs ago and it sold within 2 days for the exact price we asked and the guy who bought it met us at the bank, we did the deal and he drove away. It was his first time to drive it. However, it was in MINT condition and he knew he practically had a brand new car.
CarMax is another place that will buy.
I tried craigslist, which is free, and didnt get a lot of interest. I used autotrader.com and sold in less than a month. I did the "post till it sells" and had it in the featured category for 2 weeks. Got a lot of interest. Do a little research first to see what the book value is and what others are selling for and put a fair price on it. Good luck!
I've had great success with craigslist. I've sold two clunkers very quickly - within days of posting. I also bought my Toyota 4Runner off craigslist from a great couple. You just have to put it in simple terms and use some common sense - cash only, pick up only - will not deliver. And have a guy meet with the buyer. If you suspect anything, don't meet with them. I would set up a gmail.com account (it's free) for the responses to be sent to. Don't give phone numbers or your name until you feel comfortable. Also, if you can drive it, meet at a public place, not your home.
Is it worth anything good? If not donate it and save the hassle and use it for a tax deduction. Or sell it for parts.
If you know anyone that lives near a high school, put it there. Put a price and a phone number.
I sold my truck in 2 days by parking it near a high school.
And yes, teens still go up there for all sorts of things even though it's summer.
i sold one on craigslist very quickly.
Defintly Craiglist as the others have said but also Carsforsale.com and autoexplosion.com lets you list cars for free.
