what must i do to get my hair to grow long fast?
I asked my hair stylist, and she said prenatal pills. I tried it since I had some left. Low and belhold GROWTH!
the fastest way is to get hair extensions. Short of that, you can eat lots of jello (gelatin stimulates hair and nail growth)
I'm trying to grow my hair out as well and it is a pain. My hair stylist recommended Biotin for me. It is for hair and nail growth. You can find it at GNC and maybe other health stores. Good luck!
I recommend JuicePlus. It's a vitamin made just from fruits and vegetables. I've been on it for a while and the last time I went to my hairdresser she said half joking 'are you on some kind of super vitamin or what?' because my hair had grown so much. Its good for you so it can't hurt!
unfortunatyely hair definitely has a mind of its own! i am hairdresser and have had this question asked a million times. contrary to most common belief it really helps to get a small amount(1/4in.) cut off your hair at least every 8 weeks...it is like pruning a plant. Also hair health is very closely connected with nutrition, vitamins and minerals. there is a vitamin called Hair, skin and nails at most health food stores that you can try. it does really work but i am always reluctant to take it because if the hair on my head is growing, so is the hair on other parts of my body. i couldn't keep up with the eyebrow plucking! seriously! anyway, it is also important to be using a good shampoo. shampoo can really effect the health of you hair. most people skimp on shampoo and spend the money on conditioners but shampoos can have very harsh chemicals that depleat hair nutrition, dry hair out, and cause more shedding! if i were you i would invest in some biolage or pureology. both excellent products. good luck. there is always extensions?
Try VemmaForever.com, since I have been drinking it for a year now my nails and hair grow very fast, not to mention other health issues I had that it has helped. They just came out with the healthiest enery drink on the market TakeVerve.com and it has all the same ingredients as VemmaForever.com plus 80mg of plant based caffeine from the Guarana seed extract, coupled with brain focusing amino acids. Just enough to provide the alertness without the jitteriness sometimes associated with coffees, colas, or other energy drinks. Either product may be able to help you with hair growth. Check it out, they do have a 30 day money back quarantee.
This probably is just folklore but my mother keeps telling me that putting olive oil on one's head will make it grow think and long. And garlic shampoo is also good for your hair and scalp. I'm forgetting if she said fast though. But it's worth the try. Or look on ask.com for a natural solution.
Hello have you Sweet Passions they make beautiful cakes. Our family loves them.
You can get a wig or extensions but you can not force your hair to grow fast any faster than it already does. You can also go to a good stylist who will cut your hair over a period of several months to allow you a stylish transition as your hair grows out. Be patient!
I know that massaging your scalp daily will help hair grow out faster. I've tried it, and it works for me.
Unfortunately there isn't too much you can do. I've had hair issues my whole life (hair falls out when stressed, etc.) so I know all about hair. The only thing that makes a difference is circulation and stimulation to the scalp. Hair does grow faster in the summer, for example, because the warmth brings circulation to your scalp. Also if you exercise vigorously you can bring blood to your scalp. Headstands also can help, if you're really determined. Scalp massage also. Overall, increasing circulation makes hair healthier and it will grow somewhat faster, but 1/2 inch per month is typical. There are a couple of vitamins which supposedly help, can't remember exactly offhand, I think it's biotin and folic acid. There are hair and nail vitamins. Good luck.
Take prenatal vitamins. Your hair will grow very fast. Of course check with your doctor first.
Unfortunately, how quickly one's hair grows is mostly a matter of genes. You could try things that stimulate the scalp or maximize your blood flow (scalp massage, cardiovascular exercise, etc.), in the hopes that the increased circulation will boost your hair growth rate... at any rate, a daily scalp massage isn't going to hurt your hair, and will probably help you feel better and less stressed; and less stress generally mean healthier hair...
The major thing you can do is take care so that what length you have stays healthy and doesn't break off. A few tips you might consider (and I do know of which I speak; I've been growing my hair out for about four years, and my hair currently hits my rear end -- almost 3 ft. from root to tip):
- Try extra conditioning treatments and products intended to increase hair strength (Herbal Essences just came out with a new line intended for long hair; my friend -- who, unlike me, has trouble getting her hair to grow fast -- uses the Garnier line)
- Use a brush that is a combination boar-bristle (to help distribute the natural oils better) and plastic bristle (to help massage your scalp while you brush). Ask your hairstylist to recommend a shape/style depending on your particular hair type.
- Avoid any hair product that causes daily build-up and/or includes alcohol (most hairsprays, for example) -- so drying!
- NEVER brush your hair while its wet; use a wide-tooth comb and I recommend a leave-in conditioner on the ends (for the most part, you shouldn't use conditioner any higher up on your head than your ears at all if you want to avoid the dreaded greasy-root-dry-end look)
- As often as possible, avoid blow-drying. The easiest way to air dry, unless you have very coarse or unruly hair, is to wash it at night and let it dry while you sleep -- extra smoothness points if you use a satin pillowcase (not to mention the beneficial impact a satin pillowcase can have on those little wrinkles the years keep surprising us with...)
- The longer your hair, the less often you want to wash it... as I said before, my hair is very long, and I only wash it once or twice a week. If you usually wash your hair every day, or every other day, try gradually adding one extra day between washes to give your scalp time to adjust. You might have a minor problem with greasiness (thank heavens current fashion gives us so many options to disguise oily hair! -- hats, wide headbands, head scarves, etc.) on the extra day(s), but eventually it will even itself out and pay you back with healthier hair (plus, imagine the savings on shampoos and conditioners!)
- In addition to not washing it more than once every three days, I find it helps to spritz down the ends of my hair with a conditioner/detangler every day. The longer your hair is, the drier those ends are going to be, and the more damage they'll have taken from the sun, styling, etc. They need lots of loving care if you want them to stick around...
- Surprisingly, make sure there's enough fat in your diet. Super low-fat diets often leave women with dry, fragile, and lackluster hair, nails and skin. Of course, this doesn't mean to eat cake and nothing but cake... you need a well-balanced, vitamin-rich diet to maintain healthy hair (and a healthy you, of course!)... just don't leave out the fat entirely. ;)
- In addition to a healthy diet, make sure you're getting enough water, sleep and exercise -- a strong, healthy body is more likely to produce strong, healthy hair. Along those same lines, watch out for caffeine and nicotine; they can be related to a whole host of hair (and skin) problems.
- If nothing seems to be working, have your thyroid tested. The thyroid plays a big part in hair growth, believe it or not.
- Above all, be patient... for most folks, hair only grows a maximum of 6 inches a year. So the ONLY way you can get long hair fast would be extensions... of course, then you're faced with the possibility of bald spots from the extra stress on your hair follicles (you can see the bald spots on poor Britney Spears' head in some of those paparazzi shots... and yet the silly thing keeps getting extensions put in, which is only going to make it worse!)
Hope at least some of this wall o' text helps, and good luck! :)
i KNOW THIS SOUNDS WEIRD BUT CUT IT....IF YOU TRIM YOUR ENDS IT WILL PROMOTE GROWTH.IT WILL ALSO HELP IF YOUR HAIR IS THIN. IT SEEMS THE MORE I TRIM THE THICKER IT BECOMES. I KNOW IT'S POSSIBLE TO GET YOUR HAIR TO GROW CAUSE JUST YESTERDAY I CUT OFF 16" OF HAIR....(ONLY ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF OF GROWTH)......I FEEL LIKE A WHOLE NEW WOMAN!!!
GOOD LUCK, HOPE THIS HELPED
The best way to help your hair grow is to do a really good conditioner, at least once a week. Also you should use the least amount of heat on it as possible. i.e. Once you wash & condition it, dry the hair and flat iron it and put a very minimum amount of a light oil all over your hair and for the rest of the week, wrap your hair by brushing it to either the right or left as smooth as you can get it, then place a scarf on it (u may put a stocking cap on it 1st if you'd like). Comb it down in the morning, and repeat these wrapping steps each night. This will make your hair healthy and grow (by minimizing the heat and not doing too much to it). Also, if you know someone who can braid really well, get you hair braided consistently for a year. Each time that you take it down to get it re-braided, possibly get your ends cut 1st then get it re-braided. Try to keep this up for an entire year if you can. You'd be surprised at how long your hair will be.

Pre-natal pills work the best for me! My hair fell out in clumps after my pregnancy and once I started taking the vitamins again it started to grow better and quicker.
Another thing that sounds funny but is true, is eating fat in your diet. Not all fat is bad but I went thru a spell when I couldn't get enough calcium in my body and craved cheese all the time. I ate jack and cheddar cheese like it was going out of style! My hair also was super shiny and healthy. I've laid off the enormous amounts of cheese and I can definitely tell my hair is not as healthy. Not that cheese is a magical cure, and should also be eaten in moderation with a healthy diet. =)
Pre-Natal Vitamins, your hair and skin benefit from these vitamins. Also, essential oil of Rosemary. You can buy it in your local health food store or purchase Young Livings Essential Oils through me. Rosemary stimulates hair growth. I have been using it in my hair especially after having two kids. Around the 3rd month after my girls were born I would start to lose my hair. The rosemary helped grow new hair quickly. I am growing my hair as well. Young Living Essential Oils are top grade and the best around. Feel free to call me if you should have any more questions or need more information. My name is K., ###-###-####. I hope this info helps. Take care, I know what you are going through. P.S. Put 3-5 drops in your hand and massage through scalp, I prefer at nighttime just in case I need to do my hair during the day to prevent an oily feel. Its refreshing, in a few weeks you'll notice substantial growth.
I know how you feel about wanting your hair to grow quickly. I had hair down to my waist and chopped it all off in an attempt to get my ex-husband to leave me alone. It didn't work.....and all my hair was gone. I seriously had the Dennis the Menace thing going on. My son hated it. Some people thought it was darling.
You can't make hair grow faster than it just normally will. About 1/2 an inch a month. Be careful of anything harsh you use as far as color or shampoos. Anything that burns your hair will make it break off and not grow as healthfully. Believe it or not, regular trimming will help. My hair is long again, to my son's delight. He loves brushing it. In the meantime, get yourself some cute hair clips, head bands, make the most of your short hair transition. You can always be cute with short hair until it grows out.
My hair is full and grows fast and I am turning 51!
I take Vit B for my hair (and nerves!); if I can find a 100mg Vit B Complex, I buy that; but if not, I get 50mg B Complex. I trade off brands and buy them in a Natural Foods Store. Also, I like Magnesium for my hair (and nerves!), so CalMag or Dolomite is something I take. I use hair dye from the Health Food Store (Dark Brown) and mostly dye the roots. My hair is usually past my bra strap, above my waist, so I brush with a Boar Bristle brush. I hang my head over the edge of the bed to get blood to my scalp. Also, pulling my hair or If it is super dry (most of the time), I put a little Olive Oil on my hands and rub it into my hair for conditioning. I do not wash my hair every day. On all the above, I am not super- stringent, but when I think of it, I do try to take the supplements, etc.
Hair typically grows about 1/2 inch per month on average. The best thing you can do is simply keep your hair away from scissors for 2 or 3 years straight. No trims at all. That's how I get mine to grow, and I'm usually able to donate about 10 to 12 inches every 2 1/2 to 3 years.
take prenatal vitamins
Hi,
Your diet is the first and most influential factor in getting your hair to grow at its top pace. Make sure you eat a lot of protein (that is what hair is made of) and also include a supplement that has all of the b vitamins. Prenatal vitamins work well. On average a healthy adult will see about a quarter of an inch growth every four weeks.
I think about this daily as well, but hopefully for you for different reasons initially. I underwent chemo and finished in October, 2007. It is only about an inch long, at the most. I envy women with beautiful hair! I'd be very interested in responses to R. F as well. Thanks!
It sound gross but stop washing it. your natural oils will help keep it strong which promotes growth.Feel free to condition as often as needed. trim your ends and take prenatal vitamins.....Good Luck!
I agree that prenatal pills will help with the hair growth!! Worked for me!!
the effect that prenatal vitamins had on my hair (and nails!) was amazing!! and I've always been told that it is good for your entire body to take them even when you are not pregnant. happy hair-growing!
Something I have heard about but not sure if it works or not. I have heard that if you mix birth control pills in your shampoo and use it once a week that it helps with having thick long hair. Only one catch though. Don't get it on your facial hair because that will overgrow as well.
Good luck
