Family Fun Activities Indoors Since the Rain Is Coming....

Our family celebrates Family Fun night every Friday night! If my step son is with is mommy then we still have date night! It's a great way to kick off our weekend on a positive note and gets us excited about the weekend instead of dropping on the couch friday night saying, "Thank god it's Friday!" and feeling pooped. ;0) I am looking for some fun indoor activities or rainy night activities that we could do together as a family aside from movie night in front of the tv. Open to any ideas? Thanks ladies!

I know my kids are way younger but when we were trapped inside we played inside hide ans seek and did lots of puzzels. just a thought to get you started.

This suggestion may sound silly but when my kids were little they always thought it was fun on a rainy day.I used to purchase egg dying kits just after Easter for $1.00 or less most times. I would keep them in a closet & bring them out on a rainy day. We always had eggs in the house! You can also just use food coloring if you dont have a dye kit. But it kept them busy for an hour or more. If it was near another holiday we would just dye them accordingly. Like right now is almost halloween. You could make orange one's & put jack-o-lantern face;s on them. The eggs won't go to waste as they can still be eaten. We use to have contests...brightest color,funniest,scariest,etc....
I hope this suggestion works for you...

Hi B.,

well a good one that i remember when I was younger was we used to curl up along the fireplace and play board games, or if the fireplace wasn't in use we uaed to still play games, or read or play schrades, that was always fun.

Hey there!
I am a Brady Bunch mom myself. I have 3 step kids and 3 of my own. Great indoor family activities are cards, dominos, memory, and "Hat". "Hat" is a great way to encourage family communication. You take strips of paper with random subjects written on it, pull one out of the hat and talk about it as a family.

We get out the sleeping bags and watch movie marathons, pop some popcorn or have hot cocoa. We also play a lot of board games. My son got a Wii for his birthday and this will probably get added to the list of things we would do, it is ALOT of fun and really gets you up off the couch and moving. Which is really great when yer stuck indoors.

Have you tried board games? My son loved to play Monopoly Jr., Clue Jr. etc. We started teaching him very early to play dominos and this helped his counting skills.

I think one of the best things to do is to play some really fun board games! My hubby and I do that sometimes (not enough) but we always enjoy it! If you want some that are educational and very fun let me know!

Sincerely,
B.
