What kind of Parent-Toddler class do you teach in Troy? Where is it located?
I have an expired carseat that I need to get rid of. Does anyone know of an organization that recycles old carseats? I've been doing my best to go "green" and I just can't stand the thought of it sitting in a landfill for the next 200 years!

you could try and contact the carseat company and ask them whether the plastic used in their product is recyclable, if it is then u can just stick it in your recycle bin (if you have one in your community) if not, then you can take it to a recycling facility closeby you (you can call your city for location).
if it's not recyclable and it's still good, you could try and sell it thru the mom2mom sales or give it to somebody who would want it. post it on here for free or something-
Try the Hispanic Chapter of the Catholic Social Services Group. They are on Huron Street in Pontiac, MI. Last year they needed car seats really badly. I am not sure they still take them, but call them and see.
Why don't you donate it to HAVEN?
I agree with taking it to the recycle center. However, I completely disagree with the poster who recommended trying to sell it. The expiration dates are there for the safety of the child and should not be used after expiration! Salvation Army won't even take car seats for that very reason.
