We are looking at putting in hardwood or Pergo type flooring and I just saw the ad on tv for Empire's 60% off sale. Has anyone ever used them? Is there a co. in the Royersford area that you have used and been happy with/ or not? Also we are looking for a siding company if you have any info on one of them.

I called Empire and they made an appt to come out. Half an hour before he was due to show, he called and said he wouldn't be able to make it and he rescheduled for the next morning at 9am. He didn't show so at 10am I called and got his voicemail and never heard back from them again. Had an estimate from Volpe also. The salesman was very nice-but the price was really high. We ended up not doing the siding at all & lucked out to find hardwood floors under the rugs already. ; )

We used Empire to get our carpets installed. No problems here. We got it done the week before Thanksgiving and the installers did a fine job. We were pleased with the results. I think they contract out to different installers so that is why you get inconsistent reviews. I knew it was a bit of a gamble because I heard mixed reviews myself, but we were pleased. Hope that helps.

As for Empire, I have never used them but a friend of mine did and had some problems with them.
One of my good friends used Empire to do all new rugs in her house. She had an absolutely horrible experience. It took months to work our the issues and it was a total nightmare. She warned everyone she knew to avoid them. The real problem was inexperienced installers. But, thats the only person I know who has used them.
We've used Bob Wagner on two different occasions and were very happy with the whole experience.

I don't know much about empire. My sister in law had problems with their work.
We recently used Carpet Craft in Limerick to recarpet our finished basement after a flood. We found them extremely responsive and professional, and the work was finished quickly and done very well.
We did call Empire when we were looking for vendors, but their salesperson stood us up for an appointment and then they kept hounding us with phone calls. Very shady in our opinion.
I see that someone is recommending Volpe Roofing in Cedars, PA. Very bad choice. We used these contractors years ago and found them to be the most dishonest, unprofessional dummies on the planet. I can't speak to Empire Flooring but I do want to warn everybody about Gary Volpe and his awful company. Find someone else to do your home improvements. I wish I did. Seriously!!
