A card that I write in how much I appreciated them and how much my kid liked them. A $10 giftcard to Caribou.
Do you do end of year teacher gifts? I have a child in Preschool and one in kindergarten. I dont recall if i did them for preschool last year, and now that one is in kindergarten. Do you do gifts? If so, what kind of gifts do you give? We did Christmas gifts of course. Im just not sure if its the norm to do end of year gifts.

Yes, gift cards. I have a few friends that are teachers, and they ALL say that's what they like. Even if it's just 5.00 or 10.00... :)
I bring in-season flowers from my yard or farmer's market. Bring them early in the week so they can be enjoyed in class all week.
A favorite gift of mine was some personalized note cards. I think the mom got them from Vistaprint. They were happy polka-dot cards with my name on them.
I ran into a lady at Office Max who was making some note cards for her daughter's teacher. She printed on a 1/8 page the teacher's name and school at the top, and a saying the teacher used at the bottom. At the store they were printing them, cutting them and binding them with tear-off biinding for her. A clever and useful gift.
Yes! I have one in preschool and one in 1st grade. I love both of their teachers and they've had such a great year! I always give a small gift (notepad, small cosmetic bag, etc) and a gift card. This is also teacher appreciation week!
I've always gotten an end of year gift for my kids' teachers. I'll usually get a gift card for a book store. That way, they can either buy a book for their classroom or one for them to enjoy themselves. I'll also get another little something, like Bath and Body lotion or something like that. I stay away from "#1 teacher" things or ornaments or mugs or stuff like that. I'm acquainted with enough teachers to know they get a TON of that stuff and don't know what to do with it.
You can always take a collection up and have everyone contribute that wants to and get them a bigger gift card and a plant and card. That's just some ideas.
Hi mom-
I am in the process of making end of year gifts for my 'special' daughters teachers/therapists.
O am 'candlewicking' small images...using a little batting under them and framing them. Candlewicking is sort of a series of small french knots with off white thread...on muslin.
Google it!
I find small projects like that both relaxing...and something hand made seems always to be appreciated!
best Luck!

yep I like to give notecards, fancy post its and gift cards. It seems like teachers always need stationary or notecards.
Speaking as a teacher...yes! Do end of year gifts if your child had a positive experience and you were satisfied with the kind of year they had. I have a 2 and 4 year old and I asked the director of their school if she could have the teachers put together classroom wish lists. That way it's easy to make a donation to the classroom at any time of the year (it's teacher appreciation week this week, hint! hint!). As far as individual gifts go, again just speaking from experience, if you don't know specifically what the teacher likes or is into, then a gift card is the best way to go!
