I'm in need of a emergency babysitter at least 1 to 3 times per month!!! The sitter must be able to sit in my home for about 6 or 7 hours or less. Person must be available for last minute requests. Does a person like this even exist??? What do other moms do when the sitter cancels and you cant miss another day at work!??!?!?!
Person also must have references available.

I don't have experience in this field because I'm a stay at home mom. I do now that my husband's employers offers emergency childcare for 20 or 25 days a year. Ofcourse I do not now anything about your employer but maybe you could have a back up daycare where you can bring your children? I don't know if daycares do this but it might be worth asking.

In MHO, if your sitter is calling in "sick" 1-3 days per month - I say it is time to find a new sitter. I have had my babysitter for 1 1/2 years and she has called in at the last minute only 2-3 times in 1 1/2 years. And when she does - I have to take a vacation day or my husband does or my mother comes into the city from the burbs.
You may want to think about finding someone else. Again, MHO (my humble opinion).
