I would definitely recommend going to an allergist. My daughter has an egg allergy (both yolk and whites). You need to find out exactly what you are dealing with so you can take the steps to change her diet.

Hi L., allergies are an interesting topic. Feed the brain properly and the brain will do what it is supposed to do. And that means no allergies. I have found in my practice that many allergies are not really allergies to the food - but the additives and preservatives that are often found along side of that food (yes even eggs!) Think about what those animals were fed to have them produce the number eggs. I know a young boy who is "allergic" to all fruit juices, even PURE orange juice...but he can eat an orange without incident. I work with a mom who had not been able to eat dairy her entire life "she is too allergic" and now, after feeding and cleaning her body properly, she can enjoy a variety of dairy. Skin conditions that doctors want to treat from the outside…actually start on the inside. What goes inside is MOST IMPORTANT.
Here’s a list of some of the most medically questionable and harmful additives in everyday foods:
1. Sodium nitrite
2. BHA & BHT
3. Propyl gallate
4. Monosodium glutamate
5. Trans fats
6. Aspartame
7. Acesulfame-K
8. Food colorings (Blue, Red, Green, Yellow)
9. Olestra
10. Potassium bromate
11. White sugar
12. Sodium chloride (salt)

Food allergies (and allergies in general) can develop anytime, so it's not impossible for her to get it even in her 20s.
For now, I would say avoid eating eggs and consult with a doctor.
Has she been tested for various food allergies? I am allergic to eggs, started when I was about 20 years old, but have found that I am more sevsitve to the egg yolk then the egg white... anything made with egg yolks and I am sick, if it is made with just a little bit of egg white I am fine.
I started a jornual of everything I ate and noted any sypotms that seemed a bit off and found the above differances of eating the different parts of the egg. This way she can figure out if it is certian foods, the way the food is made and so on and then eliminate the places or foods that upset her most.
An food allergy test can tell you for sure what you are allergic to, it really helped put my mind at ease because I was going between strawberries and eggs that were affecting me... found out slightly allergic to strawberries but it really is the egg yolk that is causing me stomach pains and hives.
It could be the chicken feed. My husband is allergic to soybeans and store bought eggs come from chickens fed soybeans. Our chickens in our backyard are organic and my husband has no problems with their eggs.
As a parent of a child with food allergies, my advice is to get he to an allergist for testing. Allergies like this may turn anaphylactic at any time, and she may be allergic to more than just eggs. If the allergies progress, benedryl won't be enough to save her life. Food allergies are serious business.
Here is a source for information:
It doesn't make much sense that she would be allergic to eggs in Tx but not in Ca. It could be, like Barbilee says, that it's the 'other' ingredients in the food she's eating and not necessarily the eggs. Good idea to keep a food diary and she should go to an allergist.
My son too is allergic to eggs, however we found that it wasn't the eggs but the additives (i.e. steroids) given to the chickens. He is fine with anything prepared with eggs and natural eggs (friends have chickens). I suggest you try a local farmer's market and try farm fresh eggs. Good Luck.
The things people are allergic to change over time and can be different if you move far away from where you grew up. I didn't have allergies in New York but when I went to Washington, DC for college my allergies started up. Living in LA now, I still have allergies but they are different than they were on the East Coast.
Your daughter should be tested to see what she is allergic to and she may need allergy shots or some other treatment. I also use acupuncture for my allergies. It works great for me and no medications or shots are needed.
Hope this helps and hope your daughter feels better soon!
