My pediatrician told me that kids will sometimes eat only one or two things for a while, and that it's nothing to worry about. As long as she is peeing and pooping it will be ok.
My daughter is 14 months old and refuses to eat anything but crackers, yogurt, and bananas. Everytime I offer her something new she says no!! She is very petite and borderline underweight, but her height is through the charts. I am worried and frustrated. Any suggestions?

It may just be a phase but if I were you I would make her at least tast one new food a day. She doesn't have to eat a big plate full of green beans but she should at least take a bite. Whe she says no, tell her that this is not up for discussion, she must take one bite and swallow it. The reason I'm encouraging you to take a hard line on this one is because 2 of my cousins were like this at her age and are still very picky eaters now at 13 and 19 years old. The 13 year old (girl) is borderline annorexic and still has to be given pediasure every day to get her to take in enough calories. And eating like this has stunted her growth and effected her health. She doesn't have body image issues she's just a picky eater.
At least its not chips, soda, and ice cream. :-)
Sometimes kids do this. No big deal, these are pretty healthy foods so let her eat what she likes. I would continue to offer her new foods, she will eat something else eventually. :-)
As a child my mother attempted to "make" me eat foods I disliked and it did not help my 'get used to them' or increase the number of foods I ate, it only made me lose trust in her.
Is is common for toddlers in your family to be lean and tall? If so, I wouldn't worry much. Be encouraging and positive, making a negative issue out of foods is a recipe for later eating issues.
