kindermusic out of evola at 23 and schoenherr or theres a mom on mommasource who teaches out of her house shes in rochester.
I was wondering if there were any local toddler/preschool drumming classes- perhaps a mom & tot type of class...or maybe maybe a music-making class in general? I do not want a singing/music/story type of class (we've already done that), but a class where she can use and learn about real instruments. I have an almost 2-year old who LOVES to "play music" and drum on just about anything she can find and I'd really like to nurture her enjoyment outside of the home. Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you!!

Kindermusik, absolutely. I think it's exactly what you're looking for.
I'm the one that teaches out of my house in Rochester.. I'd recommend Kindermusik.. definetely do activities that would enhance playing the drums or any instrument. I used to teach piano at a conservatory (didn't teach KI there), but I had kids that had gone through 2-3 years or more of Kindermusik and it was INCREDIBLE how prepared they were for more structured lessons. Before age 5 or 6, kids should be in classes that help them LOVE music.. We use shakers, bells, drums, glockenspiel and other instruments in KI.
Gymboree Play & Music has a music class that has insturments that are geared for toddlers. My daughter loved playing with the bells, maracas, and drums. The one we go to is at 18 mile & Garfield in Clinton Twp.
