Does anyone else have an extreme disliking for these stinkin bottles? And now they claim that the bottles preserve vitamins! Come on now....
I know this question is kinda silly but I'm just curious if I'm the only one who thinks these bottles are a rip off.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So here's my reasons why I do not like these bottles. I have worked with children for quite some time and every time an infant had dr. Browns bottles, they leaked. If you use formula it's IMPOSSIBLE to put the powder in. These bottles were first designed for babies who had a medical reason to have them, like if they had acid reflux or were extremely gassy. It makes no sense why you would want to have twice as many pieces to wash especially with a newborn! They are such a rip off and so darn expensive! If you want to spend the extra money and time for these bottles, more power to you, but I'm sticking with the easy clean and less expensive ones! This is just my opinion.

I love these bottles. Would never use anything else. My son was never gassy with these. It's a couple more steps to wash them but so worth it.

sorry! I LOVE Dr. Brown's bottles.

I use my cake tester & a piece of paper towel to clean the tube. Been using these bottles for almost 10 years now....at the request of the Moms!

They never, ever leak....except thru the nipple which all bottles do. Seriously, I've never had a leaker!

& when I give them as shower gifts....the crowd goes wild. :)

We've used them with both of our girls and LOVE them. I've never had an issue with being able to clean the straw tubes with the brushes that came in the pack. I give them a once over in the sink with the scrub brush and then run them through the dishwasher in the Dr Brown's racks.

We've only had one leaking bottle and just tossed it the rest have been fine.

Peace and Blessings,
T. B

My son is now 2 and hasn't had a bottle in over a year, but we used Dr. Brown's from day one, and I loved them! Sorry! I have recommended them to many people who all say the same thing. Mine never leaked and with the proper use of cleaning tools that come with the bottles...they do in fact come clean.

I do home childcare and buy 3 or 4 of whatever bottle type the child uses t home before starting with me so I have my own supply. I don't care what kind it is as I want consistency for the child and for them to eat happily.

Some babies really struggle with finding one if they are breastfed. I have been thru this many times, trying several types of bottles and nipple shapes and flows.

I finally had Dr. Browns kid. Hes a bit over a year old now so haven't used them in a few months, but did all thru his infancy here. Other than a few extra pieces, I did not see the big deal (an as I said, I have cleaned about every bottle type out there). I never even used the little straw brushes. I washed them in the dishwasher thing and never had an issue. Its just a bottle, and it feeds a child happily. Just not a bg deal to me.

I never buy more than the 3 or 4 I need for a days worth (at daycare) of bottles. Never an investment of 12, etc. Bottles are pretty spendy, and these seem higher than many, I will admit!

Best of luck!

I hate them and blame them for the grossest smelling babies in the world. They always leak for me and the milk goes onto the baby's skin and they smell rotten.

The straws cannot be cleaned, even with the tool provided and God forbid that you ever lose the stupid thing.

I hate those bottles with a passion and refused to use them. I put the baby's formula into platex nursers and never told the moms I didn't use their disgusting bottles.

I never had any problems with them at all! I actually really liked them and would recommend them. If there are specific reasons you do not care for them, you can pm me and I can let you know how I got around the "problems!"

I can relate to why you do not like these bottles. I work in my church nursery in the infant room and I agree they leak all the time. When I had my son some bought me the playtex Air vent bottles which are designed differently but do the exact same thing as the dr. browns. The concept of these is that the air bubbles do not flow through the milk which the baby swallows. Instead they vent at the bottom of the bottle(which is facing up in the air when in actual feeding position). Therefore they won't be so gassy and fussy. I loooooooved my Air-vent bottles. They do have extra 2 extra parts to clean but I never had a fussy baby with alot of gas. So it was worth every bit of it. Maybe keep a few of those bottles around, and show them to the parents. They are much cheaper than Dr. Browns. But unfortunatley they do have the 2 extra pieces but they are alot easier to clean then the extra pieces on the Dr Browns..and like I said....its better than having a fussy baby all the time!

I absolutely LOVED Dr. Browns bottles when I had little ones. There were a lot of pieces that went with them, but other than that had no leaking issues or cleaning issues.

You are not alone! Why do people think they are the best?

Our son had a medical issue (his food was going into his lungs), and we had to thicken his breast milk/formula. So, he needed a faster flow. The professional that did his swallow study told us to get Dr. Brown's bottles because they had this Y-cut nipple. So, I went to the store and bought probably 12 bottles. We went back to her a few weeks later, and after observing him said the flow was too fast and we should probably use a "level 3" nipple instead. A "level 3" is the same as a "fast flow" on most brands. Oops! Guess I should have waited until she saw him twice before buying so many. At this point he was used to the Dr. Brown's and we had already bough them, so we just bought new nipples.

We were actually able to wash all the parts just fine in our dishwasher, but I agree that those bottles leak! We bought the bigger screw on caps so that they didn't leak when we had to shake them. That helped a lot!

The one good thing about them is that I was able to sell them all on Craig's list. I probably wouldn't have bothered if they were any other brand. I sold them to a grandpa who would be watching the grandchild and wanted extras at his house, so I felt good about that anyway.

Yep, no idea what's so special about them.

Hate them! Impossible to clean, the replacement parts are super expensive. The nipples are flimsy and my daughter started biting through them when she got teeth. They also did not help with preventing burps and gas bubbles.

I actually loved them for my child! I never had any issues with them and would recommend them to others. I actually thought they weren't expensive at all. I thought the other ones (Advent, etc) were more expensive. Cleaning was a breeze and I got a special scoop to put the formula in and it worked like a dream. My husband even loved using them bc they were so easy to use and clean! I'd say try them again.

We used Avent bottles. But I always like the Dr. Browns bottle brush the best.
