I loved this. And I wish there was more to it. I would love to see an entire documentary on this topic! Women are SO down on themselves. And the media only makes it worse! I also enjoyed the slideshow of Photoshop fails.
I wish they'd advertise women as they REALLY look. Every mark is a battle scar and deserves positive recognition. Let's see those stretch marks, Beyonce', Heidi Klum, and Julia Roberts! We know you've got 'em!
ETA: I was just thinking about something...
I used to be a professional cake decorator before I enlisted into the military. I've made hundreds of cakes for folks, and I've never had a complaint. But I can't think of one cake I made where I did not see a mistake or flaw that I was worried about.
Those flaws always stuck out to me, like someone had pointed a spotlight on them.
I think we, as women, do the same thing to ourselves. We see a glaring, spotlighted flaw in ourselves and think that everyone else will notice it like we do.
But they don't.
They see the WHOLE person when they see us. They might see that flaw too...but to them, it's not spotlighted or highlighted. It's a part of the whole person.
We really must learn to see our whole selves.
