Bob is the way to go. We have one and it's great. It's a little more expensive, but worth it. We have 2 in soccer so we needed something that went well on uneven dirt and grass and it does. Good luck!
Hello,
I am looking to purchase a double jogging stroller. I have a one year old and two year old. I need a stroller that is good off road, mainly for speed walking, maybe light jogging and for the beach. The lighter the better for me. Cupholders are a plus, but not necessary. Any ideas? Thanks

We have a used double Bob stroller which does push very easily, has a break, etc. The downsides are it's too wide to go in most doors and has very little storage space under the seats. It also has a great canopy for keep sun/wind/rain off the little ones. We ended up getting a Babytrend double for free that I use more than the Bob since it's more narrow to fit through doors, but it's quite as easy to push. Good luck!
I have a schwinn double stroller. I tested alot of strollers and this one will fit thru a doorway, at an angle. It has a wide canopy that covers both children, and a bumper bar. The front wheel can swivel or lock also. I found mine on ebay and there is a cup holder accessorie. I also have a bug net and rain shield. The seat covers are machine washable and 5 point harnesses for both. The only down side is both children share a foot rest, my daughter is taller so she uses most of it. Good luck on your search!
Hi, I live out in the "country" where we have no sidewalks. The street I live on is a main thoroughfare so, its busy. I walk on most nice days using the dirt/grass shoulder. I also often take a route down a dirt road (which is covered in pot holes). I have the single Bob & I absolutely love it. It is very easily manueverable. I often push the Bob one handed while I look around at all the "nature" around me. I've even taken my 2 dogs with us a few times. I could hold onto their leashes with one hand & push the stroller with the other. (The only reason the dogs don't come with us more often is because they can't walk in a straight line & that gets annoying.) The suspension system in the Bob is fantastic. My son usually falls asleep a few minutes into the trip & doesn't wake up, even if we hit a pot hole or go over a large branch.
I've even taken the Bob out on shopping trips. My husband loved the "zero point turning radius". We were able to navigate the clothing section at Babies RUS with out a problem. It folds up beautifully. It basically folds up to the size of the tires with just two quick hand actions. The only 2 negatives I have about my Bob is that it doesn't lock when folded, which makes it awkward to pick up. If they haven't fixed this yet, I'm sure you could buy a velcro strap to keep it closed. The other negative is that it is a little heavy to pick up & load in my SUV. That may be because I'm trying to keep it closed & lift at the same time. The weight is probably comparable to most travel system strollers though. (I'm not sure about that though b/c the only other stroller I have is a snap & go frame which is super light.) I would not want to use the bob to go shopping at a strip mall where I would have to load it in and out of my car multiple times in one day. However if you are just using it for exercise it is great. You don't feel the weight when you are pushing it.
You can buy accessories to add cup holders (which I have and love) and a bar to snap in a car seat (I also have this & it works great). From what I've read you can get the car seat adapter for the double bob as well. I've played with the double bob in an REI store. It seemed as easy to push & turn as the single. Its probably best if you find stores that have the strollers you are thinking about so you can push them around & try them yourself. Everyone has different preferences. As soon as I tried the single bob in a store I knew it was the one I wanted.
I don't have the double bob yet b/c I only have one kid now, but I plan on getting it in the future.
I hope this helped. Good luck with your search.
Many people recommend the Bob. They say it is easy to push and very easy to fold. This is the one I would have choosen if one wasn't given to me. Good luck.
I received the Phil & Teds Sport double stroller & it is absolutely AMAZING!!!! It maneuvers well. It has an adjustable handle for tall & short people. It folds up in a snap & fits in the trunk of my Ford Focus ZX3 (which is tiny). It is very light-you could push it with one hand or even one finger if you're on a straight-away. And it comes in a ton of neat colors. I did a lot of research on double jogging strollers because the one I got had to be able to support an infant & this one converts from an infant & toddler to 2 toddlers-it's great!!!!!! Good luck!
Hey there,
I agree the Bob double stroller works great but it is very wide and the storage isn't great but it does push very nicely. There is a variety out there and it is hard to choose especially when your paying a good amount for one. Sorry I wasn't too helpful but good luck anyway.

All I can say is pay the extra money for a pivoting front wheel! Without the pivoting front wheel turns can be difficult.
I saw a single one adverised for 39.00 in the Wilmington Newspaper yesterday. There is also a store on Limestone Road called Once Upon a Child that specializes in used equipment, toys, and clothing for children. Good luck
