I've had my Braun coffee grinder for 17 years (yup that long!) and it's still going strong. I just turn it upside down and lightly tap the edges in a circle so when I open it all the grounds are in the cup/lid.
My husband and I have had many a coffee grinder, our last one finally died a few weeks ago, and we're looking for a new one. I'd love to find one that doesn't get coffee grounds all over the counter when you open it up, yet does a good job grinding the coffee grounds. Anyone have a favorite coffee grinder?

Yes!! I love my KitchenAid and if I remember correctly it only cost $15!! a few years ago. Can't remember where I got it, maybe Ross?, but it must have been on sale at that price. The thing I like about it is that the coffee container part comes out, you don't have to turn over the whole machine. However, sad to say it still gets grounds on the counter.
I LOVE my Braun too! I bought it before I was married so it is over 20 years old!
Recently it was moved up to a top shelf in the cabinet. When our coffee make went ka-put a few months ago I purchased a Cuisinart as mentioned ... it holds the beans and grinds the beans, great machine! But sometimes I miss using my old Braun. :-)
I have never met a stand-alone coffee grinder that I like, but I love my coffee maker with grinder inside. Cuisinart, bought at Bed Bath & Beyond for less than $100. Put in the beans, it grinds and brews. Love it.
