We plan on having DS's 5th birthday party at his Tae Kwon Do studio. I think they do some kicks, punches, blocks, games, breaks and also set up for pizza and cake. My kid doesn't watch much tv or many movies. Any ideas for what to do for invites, decor, food, and favors outside of ninja turtles or ninjago.

Cost Plus had ninjabread cookie cutters, you could probably find some online and make ninja cookies if you like to bake. They could even be favors!

if you go to karatemart.com and under party supplies, they have some cute items.. I like the idea too of a chinese takeout container for which you could use as a party flavor gift bag... instead of one of those plastic bags that people usually use..

Ninjabread cookies are a great idea! That would be a perfect favor, just put in a clear plastic bag and voila! I've seen them at Bed Bath and Beyond also, and you can use your 20% off coupon. Or you could just see if you can buy the cookie cutters by themselves and use those as the party favors and kids can make their own at home. You could even add some black licorice (belt), sugar eyes (they actually sell those now), etc. to the bag for like a decorate your own type thing.
Maybe the studio has some invitations already printed up? You could also use Evite. In the past I've taken a picture of my kid and made it into an invitation on Snapfish. It would be cute if you took a picture of him in his uniform and wrote something like Tae Kwon---DO come to DS's party, won't you? Or Let's have a Kicking good time at DS's 5th birthday…or something. A few years ago I got a Martha Stewart app for my iPad and now I make my invites on there with a photo and print them out like regular prints for 10 cents a piece. It's great!
Themed plates, etc. are generally more expensive. If you can't find one you like just do white and black, or do a napkin of whatever color you son has his belt in. I don't do much "decorating". I don't think the kids really notice.

In our business during birthday parties they use the mat area for 50 minutes then go to the designated table area for cake and stuff. Then they go back to the mat area and open gifts, while the other area is cleaned up by the designated person. Could be the hostess or the family. Our lady goes with the kids and manages all the gift opening. She hands you a list of what they got and who it was from when they're done.
Then they go home. 2 hour slot. Plenty of time.
No need for movies or anything. No food either. That's time consuming and is a big clean up. We have never fed our birthday party guests a meal. They come for cake and then have some fun then go home.
