that can be so annoying! they did that to me too, telling me that they would GUESS that it was a girl...and i had my lil girl! i've been told that if they say it's a boy, it's DEFINITELY a boy, BUT if they say it's a girl, the baby doesn't always come out a girl. most of the time (through the ppl i know) they've been right. the dr's say that sometimes if it's a boy, they may be positioned in a way where the leg can hide the gender, but if the baby is in a position where there's no doubt, then stick with what they said. a friend of mine did this chart for just about everyone she knew during their pregnancy, and it out of ALL only 1 was wrong (but we could have made a mistake on that one, it was a guess for date of conception) try it out, maybe you'll get the same answer, maybe not...it's fun to try though. good luck, and congratulations! i would just wait until the next ultrasound until you buy any gender specific things. for painting, you can paint a very nice, light blue (i chose honolulu blue) and use primer and a sponge to put clouds on the top 1/2 of the walls, and ceiling spread out, and if it's a girl, put butterflies, birds, etc. on the wall (painted, stickers, whatever) or planes and bugs, and whatever else for boys. good luck again!
