That's what I'm asking-- what items did you consider for stipulations? I had not thought of travel. Thank you for those suggestions!

What stipulation? There are tons of them. If you are talking about the ever so popular I am the shunned wife I will put in there he can't bring any girlfriends around, don't do it. It only shows you are bitter and manipulative.

I have known a couple that did it and of course the man made it go both ways. For whatever reason it didn't occur to the women that they may actually meet someone but he already did and must be punished for it! Then they met someone, wana guess who got punished then?

It is stupid hateful and controlling, so if that is what you are speaking of, don't do it.

If you are talking about holidays and such that is easy, talk to your lawyer. Insurance, who carries it, dependents, who gets them and when.

We had a right of first refusal, kind of funny since he insisted on it as a way to control who I got to babysit. Like when my daughter and I went to Europe he refused to let my husband watch the kids.....but then wanted to nail me for increased day care costs.

Can you tell I am not big on the stipulations that allow for excessive control of the other party. They always seem to not work out the way you expect.

I don't get the out of town trip one either. My husband's family lives four hours from us but in a different state, I am supposed to ask him permission every holiday? Give me a break! Then he even harasses me when I go out of town just with Troy.

I wish I had stuck with my original plan and had someone in my family make him go away. Hey there are perks to being Sicilian! :p

I'm not sure which one you are considering but I will say this: you are taxed (federally) on alimony but not on child support. Consider this carefully when thinking about financials. And I would keep that pearl of information to myself: alimony is deductible to him, but child support is not.

Most attorneys are not so great at favorable tax planning in a divorce; I found that out during mine...

If your talking about visitation and money etc. Make sure you include about trips and taking out of state. Include health insurance, school stuff. School functions. Holidays.
