Disney Cruise - Evening Events (Adult) - Babysitting?

Hi Moms,

I've never done a disney cruise vacation, and I can't find info about doing evening things after the kids are asleep. I know they have a kids club, but there are "fun" things for grownups at 10pm, etc. Do they provide babysitting? My son is 5, and I don't want to leave him alone, regardless of how safe it might be.

Does anyone know what the ship provides for this kind of thing? Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Looks like there are no individual babysitting options, but I called the cruise line and the kid zone areas are open till midnight. From what the person said, they have quiet areas too if the kids want to sleep. That said, the whole vacation is not routine, so one night of late playing isn't going to ruin all of us. I'm just going to make sure we spread out the late stuff so we don't completely screw up his schedule :)

You can ask all your disney cruise related questions to the mom's panel:
http://disneyworldforum.disney.go.com/home.aspx

There is a section for Disney Cruise on there. There is stuff to do all the time on the cruise. Clubs, kareoke (SP?), comedy. If I remember correctly the kid's club is open until midnight. There MIGHT be in room babysitting available but I am not 100%. We went on Disney last October and it was the best experience of our lives. Everything was wonderful.

My name is N. Cox and I am a Travel Agent from Dallas Texas. I am also a Disney Specialist. You can also have babysitting in your cabin for a fee. Did you know Disney will be sailing from Galveston starting in September? This will be so great for all us Texans. Please feel free to call me ###-###-#### with any questions. I am a full service Travel Agent and I don't charge fees to my clients.
Thank You,

We went in December, and we did what you described in "what happened". We went out late a couple nights and put our kids (4 & 9) in the kids club. They had a blast and didn't want to leave, and recovery the next day wasn't too bad. There's too much fun stuff for them to be grumpy, and if they got that way for a while, a couple hours in the club did wonders for their attitudes (and mine!). Have fun, you're gonna love it!!!

I have not been on a Disney Cruise but I have researched them and my understanding is that there is a paid group nursery/daycare type facility for up to 3 years old but that they don't offer sitters like some other cruise lines do. Many of the " kids clubs" are open until midnight so I'm guessing you drop them off in these for the evening, but I wouldn't want to be dropping my 5 year old off at 10 so I guess you do the adult activities earlier in the evening?

Just call the number provided for FAQ or, Info, Customer Service, etc.. I have not gone on a cruise but have received a DVD & brochure. I don't have the info in front of me (Mom's Day morning) but I know there is a # provided just for these questions! :)

Have a wonderful cruise & a great Mother's Day!

Haven't been on Disney, but on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, all of the kids clubs involved extra charges when used in the evening. Might want to find out about and consider this factor as you make your decision. Have fun!!
