Has anyone had any good experiences with these two. Dish Network has a better offer, but not sure if it is a good company to go with. Anyone usuing either one of these? Thanks for any input on this.

What can I do next?

Ok, here's my input. lol

We have had Comcast for YEARS--now that they're Time Warner---I agree---they're a bunch of idiots who could care less, the service stinks and our cable worked about half the time (we live in Mesquite).

SO.....out of self defense we went to DirecTV just last week as a matter of fact and so far we are DIGGING IT! SO much better than Time Warner! We miss the On-demand from them, but they took 80% of the shows off of it anyway, so not really much to miss, but try explaining to a 2 1/2 yr old that you cannot make "Thomas the Tank Engine" play at will----doesn't happen. lol

My parents used to have Dish for about 3-4 years and every time there was a strong wind the thing went out. And it was always cycling to "acquire signal". I know they're cheaper, but you have to wonder....why? lol

Good Luck!

L.,

I asked this question about a month ago and the overwhelming results were that Direct TV was better than Dish from all the responses I got from here and the ones I got from asking friends, etc. The only issue is that you have a two year commitment with Direct TV (or Dish) where you do not with Time Warner. Good Luck

We have Dish and we've had it so long we don't have the DVR. Overall I'm satisfied with it. The part I don't like is when we have bad weather, it goes out. When we need it the most, it's not available. I guess the thick cloud cover affects the signal. I knew that going in but hubby wanted Dish so that's what we got. If something better comes along I'm ready to switch.

We've had DirecTV for 2 1/2 years now and have loved every minute of it. We haven't had any problems to speak of, so I can't really say anything about their customer service. We did have one thing happen with our TV and a black box coming up in the middle, my husband called DirecTV and told them what was happening and they were instantly able to tell him that somehow our CC had been turned on and that it was the issue.

My parent's have Dish Network and seemed pretty pleased. They had one issue where it took three new boxes and two service calls for it to be corrected. Other than that, they haven't said much either.

If you like Sirrius satellite - that's on Dish
If you like XM Satellite radio, - that's on DirecTV.

Other than that, DirecTV has exclusive rights through 2010 for NFL Sunday Ticket. This is an add-on plan that gives you access to every NFL game that is playing on every Sunday throughout the season. It is basically the reason why we got DirecTV.

I think the other channels are about the same as well as the PPV, and other for pay packages...

I have had dish network for about 3 years now and it is the best. They give you DVR capability when you get your dish. We love the DVR. You can record things you want to watch when you are not at home.
