OK Mamas, I need some suggestions. I admit my at home scrapbooking is not going well. I've heard great things about digital or online scrapbooking. Any suggestions on websites or do I have to buy software programs? I would love to find something that I can do online & then order direct since my computer is not the best at printing. I'd love to hear from you!! THANKS!! =]

I think you might be talking about the digital photo books you can create. I have created photo books at www.shutterfly.com and at www.winkflash.com There are many other sites as well.

All you need to do is upload your digital photos (at the highest resolution possible) to their website. (The website will walk you through the instructions.) Then you select a book size and an overall design theme (there are lots to pick from). From there, you start working on the individual pages -- choose a background for each page, write text/captions if you wish, select the number of photos on each page and layout, etc. It's still going to take you dedicated time. However, you will not have to buy any supplies and you don't have to worry about having prints made for all your photos!

Have fun!!

Check out www.picaboo.com. It is free to download the software and I think it offers way more backgrounds and layouts than other options.

M.,

Check out this website and see if this is what you're looking for. I am new to using it myself and I like it so far.
http://www.smilebox.com/

I am also a fan of Snapfish.com but I think Smilebox is more for the actual digital scrapbooking that you are looking for.

Take care,

J.

We use Shutterfly and they make some really cute photobooks. They often have coupons to reduce the price of the book and many different sizes available.

Do you blog? If you blog you can easily "slurp" it into a scrapbook with blog2print.com

A friend loves blurb.com for scrapbooking, but it doesn't work as well for blog slurping.

Good luck.

I agree with everyone who recommends shutterfly.com. I can't say enough good stuff about them. Also have heard that their customer service is tops-although I've never had any problems. I love this site!! I order prints thru them and pick them up at Target, have had Christmas cards made and made several photo books (scrap books)that have come out gorgeous! Have fun!

Check out www.MyPhotobookStory.com. I am a consultant with Heritage Makers and our templates are 100% customizable. You can add photos, move text boxes, change out the backgrounds, rotate pictures, change the artwork, remove the artwork, whatever you want to do. I used to use Shutterfly, but would get frustrated with the fact that you can't customize the templates or move the text boxes. The Studio application gives you the flexibility to do whatever you want!! I highly recommend this - for more information, please email me at ____@____.com.

If you really want to do digital scrapbooking from scratch, you will need some tools. I love my adobe photoshop to do it, but some others can get away with power point for just a very basic one. You can download free trial at adobe website.
Then you need the material, just like when you do with paper. The paper, elements, etc. There are a lot of websites offering tutorial and freebies. You just need to sign up. Sometimes they also have quickpage for free, just drag and drop your photos, they already make the background. Here are some that I like : scrapbook-bytes.com, www.shabbyprincess.com, www.twopeasinabucket.com. Just search digital scrapbooking, you'll find tons of website for it.
I print it at local store. Costco has a pretty good quality for the lowest price. You can upload online and pick up at store. I use to print the 12x12 and put it in the scrapbook albums.
Enjoy !

I also have to recommend Shutterfly.com. I make books for my kids each year through Shutterfly (to be given to them when they are older). The books are gorgeous. A lot of times you can get free shipping, and if you join Ebates.com you can get 10% cash back from your Shutterfly orders. (This year on black Friday I got 20% cash back.)
