Hello all,
I would like input on where the best on-line sources are for digital scrapbooking. I am looking for a site that is easy to use to convert your pictures into to scrapbooks. I like to be creative, so somewhere that might give you alot of background choices for holidays and events would be helpful.

Also, your suggestions about any other resources like books to read on the subject or websites that help with this topic.

I found this website "how fast they grow" started by a local mom. I haven't used it yet (it's on my to-do list!), but I get their email updates and love some of the backgrounds they have.

Creative Memories has online stuff and digital stuff. Find a consultant to help you get started. If you need one in Tracy, Debbie Nelson is the bomb and very digital savvy. I personally don't like it as much as I like the traditional way. Good luck!

Hi L.,

I have to agree with Smilebox. I use shutterfly for sharing all of my pictures etc... The thing I LOVE about Smilebox is the ease of loading pictures. You do not have to wait for the site to load you pictures. You can also add video, share, post to a blog, burn a DVD, etc... It is worth checking out. I made 3 father's day cards, 1 birthday card in 30 minutes yesterday and that was the first time I used it. Oh, I forgot to mention you can do much more than just scrapbook!!
Good Luck and Have fun!

After all the digital scrapbooks that I have done w/ different websites (shutterfly, snapfish, etc) I would recommend Picaboo.com - they have thousands of background choices that you can use in the book (or you can use your own picture as the background) and they have the most page layout options. It's my favorite! Just be careful ... You can spend way too much time browsing the awesome background choices online. :)

Good luck & happy scrapbooking!

I only know a bit on the ones mentioned so far...but my FAVORITE is Memory Mixer V3. It's not a site but rather software you download on your pc/mac. I could go on and on on the why and how I use it - multi size pages and/or albums, calandars, cards, print ease, film maker, DVD's etc. It's all great. As I said I am only mildly familiar with the other suggestions you got so they might be good too - just didnt' fit my personal needs. Whatever you choose - happy scrappin!

I have done several digital scrapbooks on the Creative Memories - Storybook Creator (free version). It is very user friendly. I also have used the CM software (Storybook Creator Plus) which you can purchase and create your own digital page designs. I am a Creative Memories consultant and would be happy to help, but I am not located near you. My team is and I would be happy to recommend a consultant in your area.

Hi L.,
Creative Memories has a free download with predesigned pages as well as purchaseable software that is amazingly great. I too am more of a traditional paper scrapbooker. However I have branched out and tried some digital and it is really fun. It can be quicker and less messy too. Go to the consultant locator and find someone close to you so you will have a face to face consultant. Otherwise, I am happy to help you. I am in Petaluma, CA. www.mycmsite.com/wendiolmstead

Hi L.,
I'm into paper scrapbooking myself, but I go to a lot of Creative Memories events and a lot of the women there do digital scrapbooking. From what I've heard, CM makes very user-friendly digital scrapbooking materials, and I have found my consultant to be extremely helpful in educating me on organizing my photos, cropping them, and getting them onto the pages in an interesting way - without taking forever. I would imagine digital would be a whole lot easier, actually. Anyhow, if you don't already work with a Creative Memories consultant, you may want to look into that!

Hi, L.,

I would like to add my voice to the recommendations for Creative Memories. My consultant, Rachel Villaron is amazing ! She is adept at both traditional and digital scrapbooking, and is very patient and creative in guiding you as a beginner or at any proficiency level. She is in the San Jose area, and can help you in person. I made a hardcover book online for my husband (him and his grandson) with her help, and there were tears in his eyes when he read it. Creative Memories offers the best quality on the market for digital scrapbooking. I am a Creative Memories consultant in Sacramento. When compared to other digital products and albums, the ones by Creative Memories are definately better quality. Plus, you get hands-on, personal help from your Creative Memories consultant. You can easily find one in your area through the Creative Memories website. Good luck and be careful because the digital scrapbooking, like traditional is addicting too. :-)

I've been using Shutterfly and love it! Very simple to use and they will store all your digital photos for FREE!!! Other sites - Snapfish and Kodak Gallery - have started requiring minimum yearly purchases in order to keep your photos stored on their sites - boo to them!
Good luck and have fun!
