I've made dozens of Shutterfly albums. LOVE them!!!
I am looking to do something other than traditional scrapbooking. I believe Shutterfly and other such companies have their own version of scrapbooking that I've heard people have done. Honestly, If I go about this the old fashioned way, they'll be married before they can enjoy the finished product. Would love to hear what you've done to do this in a more modern, streamlined way.. Thank you!!

I do photobooks from Shutterfly, Snapfish, iPhoto, whichever has a good deal. If you sign up for Shutterfly, you usually get a free coupon once or twice a year. I usually put a year at time in each book, although I may start doing two years at a time now that my son is getting older. There are so many options available now that you can get pretty close to a custom looking scrapbook page. I did a small traditional scrapbook for Father's Day one year and it exhausted me mentally. I am not by nature a creative person, so trying to come up with 20 different pages was torture. And this book was only 8x8. I couldn't imagine trying to fill up 20 12x12 pages.
I mostly do Snapfish but use Shutterfly too. They are great! I think they are pretty reasonably priced for the product and those two sites ALWAYS have a deal of some kind. Usually when I make a book I save it until I get a coupon that I like. Every year I make a year long photo album for just us and I love it and my kids love it. It is really big, like obscenely big, but I wait for the 50% coupon that Snapfish always distributes in like January or Feb and I get a waaaaaaay better deal.
They have options that you can make it as detailed as you want, or just do it quick and easy. Both are good. I do the detailed version because I want things a specific way and I add captions or clip art or whatever.
These digital ones still let you be creative but don't consumer your dining room with paper, scissors, glue, and stickers for 6 months! :)
I just ordered prints and put them in albums.
Like they did in the olden days....
