M.T.
Dress him in a way that makes his diaper hard to get to - keep a onsie on him and fasten it to the back. Use overalls. Use a one piece outfit or zippie pajamas put on backward. Try cloth diapers with snap covers put on backwards. Good luck
How can I get my 2 year old keep his diaper on? He is not ready for potty training and only takes the diaper off when angry.
Now I don't feel so bad. I was considering duct tape until I can find clothes he can't get off. It's very difficult to find 1 piece anything in size 3. I have a big boy. I will definitely try some of these.
I guess it's time for a shopping trip.
Thanks

put his clothes on backwards, like the zip up footy jamies backwards they cant unzip or anything
Duct tape. Seriously. You could also put it on backwards- I've seen parents do that.
My twin nieces used to get mad and pull their (very full) diapers off and it was a disgusting nightmare. They tried it with my mom one afternoon and she very calmly put a clean one on and taped the "waistband" of the diaper all the way around so they couldn't undo it, but she could (seam in the back).
Problem solved and message received on their part... only tried it a few more times before realizing that it wasn't going to work!
Overalls. With a onsie shirt underneath. You may have to look for long ones in the infant toddler section though. That is almost always the way to go. Or you could just get a size 4-6 and sew some snaps on it at the bottom, it would be long enough to tuck under and snap, the sleeves can just be folded and rolled up.
Duct tape? Okay only kidding.
Is he able to get his pants down to take the diaper off? If so, he may be ready to potty train. If he's just running around in a diaper (thus the easy access) I suggest putting pants or the sleeper pajamas on him so he can't. Some people even put their kids pjs on backwards so they cannot unzip them.
What about buying pullups so he can pull them down instead...thus maybe making him more intersted in potty training? I don't necessarily believe in pullups becuase they didn't work for my daughter but figured I'd mention it!
It is normal for them to start taking them off... we use to use baby pins on them. My 19 mo. old will take his off if he is not in a onesie - he hasn't figured out how to unsnap them yet. With one of mine I had to put the diaper on backwards & baby pin it or he would find a way to get it off. Just keep trying - he will be potty training soon... then you will have issues with keeping on the underware :)
I think putting the diaper on backwards should help. Maybe save you a shopping trip too?
Gosh, when you said your two year old is a big boy and wears a size three, all I can think of is why is my 21 month old little girl wearing a four?? Hee hee. She's tall. :)
You could buy overalls...and Gerber does make onesies up to size 5T, in plain white. I would just put a onesie on him, I guess! Good luck!
